Henri-André Laperrière
Henri-André Laperrière (June 12, 1925March 8, 2015) was a Canadian ice hockey defenceman. He was a member of the Ottawa RCAF Flyers team that won the gold medal in ice hockey at the 1948 Winter Olympics. As a member of the RCAF Flyers, Laperrière was inducted into the Canadian Forces Sports Hall of Fame in 1971, and into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 2008. Playing career Henri-André Laperrière was born in Montreal on June 12, 1925, the son of a local streetcar operator. Laperrière played junior ice hockey for the Verdun Terriers in the 1944–45 season. He played for the Montreal Carabins men's ice hockey team while attending the Université de Montréal from 1945 to 1950. In advance of ice hockey at the 1948 Winter Olympics, he was recruited by Canadian Amateur Hockey Association vice-president Norman Dawe, to play for the Ottawa RCAF Flyers team which represented Canada. Murray Dowey
Murray Albert Dowey (January 3, 1926 – May 26, 2021), was a Canadian ice hockey goaltender. Nicknamed "Fast Hands", he was a member of the Ottawa RCAF Flyers, which won the gold medal in ice hockey representing Canada at the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz. Early life Dowey was born in eastern Toronto. His father, Albert, was Irish Canadian; his mother, Winifred, was of English descent. Dowey served in the Canadian Army for two years, and played for Barkers Hockey Club of the Toronto Mercantile League. He was later presented with the opportunity to be the practice goaltender for the Toronto Maple Leafs, but did not sign after being unable to agree to terms with the owner of the Toronto Marlies (the Leafs' minor league affiliate). The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC; ), also known as Team Canada, is a private nonprofit organization that represents Canada at the International Olympic Committee. It is also a member of the Pan American Sports Organization. Outremont, Quebec
Outremont () is an affluent residential borough (''arrondissement'') of the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It consists entirely of the former city on the Island of Montreal in southwestern Quebec. The neighbourhood is inhabited largely by Francophones, and is also home to a Hasidic Jewish community. Since the 1950s, Outremont has been mostly residential, but some streets such as Van Horne, Bernard and Laurier have many commercial buildings.
