Helligvær
Helligvær is an island group in the Vestfjorden in Bodø Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The islands are located about northwest of the town of Bodø. The Bliksvær islands are about to the south, Landegode island is to the east, and the islands of Røstlandet and Værøya are about to the west. There are about 365 islands, islets, and skerries in the group. They are all low and grassy with no trees. There are five inhabited islands in the group: Sørvær (most populous), Brønnøya, Storsørøya, Vetterøya, and Vokkøya (the largest). The islanders live in small fishing villages around the island group. There were about 106 inhabitants in 2017. Helligvær Church is located on the island of Storsørøya and Grytøy Lighthouse is located on the island of Grytøy in the southern part of the island group. Helligvær Church
Helligvær Church () is a chapel of the Church of Norway in Bodø Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located on the small island of Store Sørøya in the Helligvær islands in the Vestfjorden west of the town of Bodø. It is an annex chapel for the Bodin parish which is part of the Bodø domprosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The small, white, wooden chapel was built in a long church style in 1899. The chapel seats about 100 people. It was originally a small ''bedehus'' (meeting house), but in 1908 it was consecrated as an official chapel. Grytøy Lighthouse
Grytøy Lighthouse () is a coastal lighthouse in Bodø Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is located in the Vestfjorden in the Helligvær islands, about northwest of the town of Bodø. The current light sits atop a tall concrete tower. The light sits above sea level. It has two flashes every 10 seconds, the color that flashes is white or red depending on direction from which it is seen. The light can be seen for up to . History The original lighthouse was built in 1865. It was a square light tower attached to the front of a two-story keeper's house. It was located near the current lighthouse. That lighthouse was closed and demolished in 1959 and replaced with an automated light tower nearby. Bliksvær
Bliksvær or Briksvær is an island group in the Vestfjorden in Bodø Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The islands are located about west of the town of Bodø. The Helligvær islands are about to the north, Landegode island is to the northeast, and the islands of Røstlandet and Værøya around about to the west. There are about 60 islands and islets in the Bliksvær group. They are mostly low and grassy, though trees become taller and more plentiful on the more sheltered eastern side of the group. The only inhabited island is Bliksvær island. There were 5 inhabitants in 2017. Due to the rich bird life in the area, about of the island group is protected as a nature reserve. Most of the nature reserve is not land, but ocean to protect the habitat of the sea birds and seals. The island group is served by the Bodø- Ytre Gildeskål fast passenger boat route. Landegode
Landegode (also written as Landego) is an island in Vestfjorden, just north of Bodø in Nordland county, Norway. The island belongs to Bodø Municipality and has an area of . The highest point on the mountainous island is the tall Rypdalstinden. The island is located about northwest of the town of Bodø and about east of the Helligvær islands. Most of the 48 islanders (in 2017) live in the southern village of Fenes. Landegode Church is also located in Fenes.
