Hayri Kıvrıkoğlu
Hayri Kıvrıkoğlu (born 8 August 1948, Konya, Turkey) is a former general who served for the Turkish Army. Career In 1969, Kıvrıkoğlu attended the Turkish Military Academy and graduated from the engineering school in 1970. After several successive promotions he was promoted to brigadier in 1996, joining the 3rd Army Command Operations Staff. He later joined the 8 mechanized Infantry Brigade Command as vice president before being promoted to major general in 2000 and joining the Infantry Division Tactical Command. Konya
Konya is a major city in central Turkey, on the southwestern edge of the Central Anatolian Plateau, and is the capital of Konya Province. During antiquity and into Seljuk times it was known as Iconium. In 19th-century accounts of the city in English its name is usually spelt Konia or Koniah. Hulusi Akar
Hulusi Akar (born 12 March 1952) is a retired four-star Turkish Armed Forces general who served as the Minister of National Defense from 2018 to 2023. He previously served as the 29th chief of the Turkish General Staff. Akar also served as a brigade commander in various NATO engagements including the International Security Assistance Force against the Taliban insurgency, Operation Deliberate Force during the Bosnian War, the Kosovo Force during the Kosovo War, as well as overseeing much of the Turkish involvement in the Syrian Civil War. Necdet Özel (born 1950) is a Turkish general, who served as the 28th Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces. He also served as the commander of the Turkish Land Forces. Özel is only the second in this position not to have NATO experience. Early life and education Özel was born in 1950 in Ankara. Hüseyin Kıvrıkoğlu (born Hüseyin Kıvrık, 1934) is a retired Turkish general who was the 23rd commander of the Turkish Armed Forces and on August 30, 1998, became Chief of the Turkish General Staff for a four-year term. Biography Born in Bozüyük, Bilecik Province, Turkey, in December 1934, he completed his secondary schooling at the Işıklar Military High School in Bursa. He graduated from the Army Academy in 1955 as an artillery officer. Upon commissioning, Kıvrıkoğlu underwent his officer's basic training at the Artillery Branch School in 1957. He spent the next eight years in a variety of artillery units as platoon and battery commander positions.
