Hawaiʻi International Film Festival
The Hawai'i International Film Festival (HIFF) is an annual film festival held in the United States state of Hawaii. HIFF has a focus on Asian-Pacific cinema, education, and the work of new and emerging filmmakers. HIFF's primary festival is held annually in Honolulu in November, with additional screenings and events held across the Hawaiian Islands of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, Kauaʻi and Maui. The festival also holds a smaller Spring Showcase in March and runs education and industry events throughout the year. In 2018, HIFF welcomed over 44,000 attendees. The Hawai'i International Film Festival (HIFF) has earned the distinction of being the nation's preeminent source of discovery and exhibition of Native Hawaiian and Asian-Pacific cinema and new media. Jeannette Paulson Hereniko
Jeannette Paulson Hereniko is an American storyteller, film producer, community organizer, and cultural advocate. She is the founder of the Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF), where she served as director from 1981 to 1996, and the Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF), where she served as director in 1990. She is also known for her award-winning films including The Land Has Eyes. She founded AsiaPacificFilms.com and Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema/USA. She is currently the president of Te Maka Productions Inc. Once Were Warriors
''Once Were Warriors'' is New Zealand author Alan Duff's bestselling first novel, published in 1990. Halekulani (var. Halekūlani) is an oceanfront luxury hotel located on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii. Built in 1984, it contains 453 rooms in five buildings on of property. 360-degree videos, also known as surround video, or immersive videos or spherical videos, are video recordings where a view in every direction is recorded at the same time, shot using an omnidirectional camera or a collection of cameras.
