Ryan Michael Blaney (born December 31, 1993) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 12 Ford Mustang for Team Penske. He is the son of former NASCAR driver Dave Blaney and the grandson of modified dirt track legend Lou Blaney. Lou Blaney
Louis George "Lou" Blaney (January 4, 1940 – January 25, 2009) was an American racecar driver who raced modifieds and sprint cars. He was also the operator and part-owner of Sharon Speedway. Early life Blaney was born in Hartford Township, Trumbull County, Ohio, where his father worked at a sawmill. Racing career He won 600 races in 47 years of racing, and is a member of the Northeast Dirt Modified Hall of Fame and Pittsburgh Circle Track Club Halls of Fame. Personal He had 3 sons, all of whom raced, as does a grandson. Dave Blaney is a World of Outlaws champion and former Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver along with his son Ryan, who himself is a Team Penske driver, while Dale Blaney is a sprint car driver. Dale Allen Blaney (born January 30, 1964) is an American professional former race car driver, former professional basketball player, and is currently an assistant coach for the Westminster College basketball team. Basketball career Blaney was a basketball star for West Virginia University. He averaged 12.3 points a game. He also had several honors, including the Atlantic 10 all-rookie team, all-tournament team (twice), all-conference team, and player of the week on December 1, 1985. He was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1986, but quit before the 1986–87 season started so he could focus on racing as a career.
