The Garden (pastoral Station)
The Garden is a property located north east of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is run by Andy Hayes. The Hayes run both Hereford and Droughtmaster cattle on the property. In the 1940s a large poll shorthorn cattle herd was kept on the station. In 1965, a portion of land was excised from the pastoral lease and was gazetted as the "Trephina Gorge Scenic Reserve". This land was renamed in 1978 as the " Trephina Gorge Nature Park". Quad-biking tours currently operate on the station. The Division of Lingiari () is an Divisions of the Australian House of Representatives, Australian electoral division in the Northern Territory that covers the entirety of the territory outside of the Division of Solomon, which covers Darwin, Northern Territory, Darwin and surrounding areas. The division also includes the territories of Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. The 2016 Australian census was the 17th Census in Australia, national population census held in Australia. The census was officially conducted with effect on Tuesday, 9 August 2016. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as – an increase of 8.8 per cent or people over the . Captain John Hart CMG (25 February 1809 – 28 January 1873) was a South Australian politician and a Premier of South Australia. Early life Hart was born in England, son of journalist/newspaper publisher John Harriott Hart and Mary Hart ''née'' Glanville. probably at 23 Warwick Lane off Newgate Street, London, and baptised at Christ Church Greyfriars, London. At 12 years of age he first went to sea, visiting Hobart, Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania, Australia) in September 1828 in the ''Magnet''. In 1832 Hart was in command of the schooner ''Elizabeth'', a sealer operating from Tasmania and visiting Kangaroo Island and Gulf St Vincent. In 1833 he took Edward Henty to and from Portland Bay. In 1836 he was sent to London to purchase another vessel, and returning in the ''Isabella'' took the first livestock from Tasmania to South Australia in 1837. Ambalindum
Ambalindum is a pastoral lease that operates as a cattle station in the Alice Springs region of the Northern Territory. The property occupies an area of and in 2013 was stocked with 5,000 Santa Gertrudis-cross-cattle. The ephemeral Hale River runs through the property. Gold was discovered in the area in 1887 with the first cattle and sheep stations settled in the early 1900s. Ambalindum was initially settled by George Cavanagh. In 2017 the owners, Tim and Emily Edmunds, sold their Hale River Pastoral Company including the Ambalindum and Numery leases to a Canadian Pension Fund for over 50 million. Mount Riddock Station
Mount Riddock Station is a 2,633 square kilometre cattle station in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is managed by Steve and Rebecca Cadzow. They run Poll Herefords on the property, which has organic certification. Early history Eastern Aranda and Anmatjera people have lived in the region around Mount Riddock Station for thousands of years. A station was established by Benjamin Mark Webb and Joseph Louis Schaber (1863–1940) in the early 1900s. They had originally planned to prospect for gold at Arltunga but eventually found supplying the miners with meat to be more profitable. They built the first homestead on the station in 1910. Ben Webb's three sons, Bennett, Qinton and Kil, better known as the Webb brothers, took over the station. Kil was responsible for improving the water infrastructure on the station and Bennett for the mustering, branding and droving. Joseph Louis Schaber's son Roy also managed the station.
