He is the founder and former president and chairman of Synthes, a medical device manufacturer. His Wyss Foundation has nearly $2 billion in assets. Hansjörg Walter (born 5 February 1951, in Frauenfeld) is a Swiss politician of the Swiss People's Party. He was a member of the Swiss National Council for the canton of Thurgau (1999–2017) and president of the Swiss Farmers' Union (2000–2012). Walter served as the President of the National Council (2011–2012). Biography Walter graduated from the Agricultural School Strickhof and underwent advanced agricultural and commercial training. In 1983, he graduated as a master farmer (''Meisterlandwirt'') and took over the ''Greuthof'' farm near Wängi from his parents. Hansjörg Vogel (born 16 March 1951 in Bern) is a Swiss theologian and laicized bishop, who was from 1994 until his resignation in 1995 the Roman Catholic bishop of the Basel. Life On 28 November 1976, he received his priestly ordination. After his election as bishop of Basel and the confirmation by the Pope John Paul II, he was nominated as bishop on 4 April 1994. The episcopal consecration was given by his predecessor in office, Otto Wüst. On 2 June 1995, he resigned from his office after it became known that he would soon be a father. He then married the woman who was the mother of his child. Hansjörg Trachsel (born 30 August 1948) is a Swiss politician and former bobsledder who competed in the late 1970s. Trachsel won two medals at the FIBT World Championships with a silver in the two-man event (1977) and a bronze in the four-man event (1979). Trachsel served as an officer in the international governing body of the sport, the Federation Internationale de Bobsleigh and Toboggan (FIBT), where he oversaw the construction and renovation of several bobsled venues. A civil engineer by trade, he insured the required specifications, quality and schedule for sliding sport venues, including the Olympic tracks in Park City, Utah and Lake Placid, New York, and he provided early engineering guidance for the design of the Olympic track at Whistler Mountain for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Hansjörg Schellenberger is a German oboist and conductor born in 1948. He won the first prize at the German Jugend musiziert Competition with seventeen, which led to a scholarship enabling him to further his education at Interlochen (Michigan, USA). He continued his studies in Munich with Manfred Clement and he attended master classes with Heinz Holliger. During this period he took part in numerous concerts, many of them dedicated to contemporary music, and obtained prizes in several international competitions, among them, second prize in the ARD International Music Competition in Munich. Hansjörg Pauli (3 March 1931 – 15 February 2007) was a Swiss musicologist, pianist, journalist, music critic, screenwriter, and film director. Life and career Hansjörg Pauli was born in Winterthur, Switzerland on 3 March 1931. He studied at the Winterthur Conservatory from which he graduated in 1953. He pursued further studies in London with Hans Keller. He began working as a music critic and journalist for Swiss newspapers in 1956.
