Hans Edvard Nørregård-Nielsen
Hans Edvard Nørregård-Nielsen (2 January 1945 – 2 April 2023) was a Danish art historian. Nørregård-Nielsen was born in . He was an alumnus of Ribe Katedralskole and wrote several memoirs. In 2001, he was awarded the De Gyldne Laurbær prize for ''Riber Ret''. His 1995 book, ''Golden Age of Danish Art'' reviews early nineteenth-century art. He was Chairman of the New Carlsberg Foundation Board until the end of 2013. He was also an adjunct professor of art history at the Aarhus University. He was awarded the Ingenio et Arti gold medal in 2013. Nørregård-Nielsen died on 2 April 2023, at the age of 78. Awards Nørgaard-Nielsen received the N. L. Høyen Medal in 2003. De Gyldne Laurbær (English: The Golden Laurel) (earlier: Boghandlernes Gyldne Laurbær) is a Danish literature Literary award, award, which was established in 1949. The award is handed by ''The Committee De Gyldne Laurbær'', formerly ''Boghandlerklubben'' (The Bookshops' Club). The prize is given annually in February or March. Originally the award was a laurel wreath, a golden pin with an inscription, some money and a book gift worth 2500 DKK. Today the award is a laurel wreathe, a diploma and a book gift worth 2500 Danish krone, DKK. The award is handed at a ceremony arranged by the publishing house which has published the winning book and by the Committee De Gyldne Laurbær. Early in January every year the committee sends out ballot to all the Danish bookshops, which then give their vote for a Danish book which was published the year before. Carlsberg Foundation () is a not-for-profit organization that was founded by J. C. Jacobsen in 1876, by allocating some of his shares in the Carlsberg Brewery to fund and operate the Carlsberg Laboratory and the Museum of National History at Frederiksborg Palace. Danish Culture Canon
The Danish Culture Canon () consists of 108 works of cultural excellence in eight categories: architecture, visual arts, design, design and crafts, film, literature, music, performing arts, and children's culture. An initiative of Brian Mikkelsen in 2004, it was developed by a series of committees under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture (Denmark), Danish Ministry of Culture in 2006–2007 as "a collection and presentation of the greatest, most important works of Denmark's cultural heritage." Each category contains 12 works, although music contains 12 works of score music, and 12 of popular music. The literature section's 12th item is an anthology of 24 works.
