Hampton Village, Saskatoon
Hampton Village is a residential neighbourhood within the Confederation Suburban Development Area of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Hampton Village is the first suburb designed on Saskatoon's west side to be modelled after the village concept. The residential area is constructed around the ''village centre'' consisting of shops, services and amenities for residential living, with walking trails radiating outward from the central core. This suburb has some detached homes and condominiums sold, and in 2008, there are still several areas still under construction. The land on which Hampton Village sits was annexed over a period of many years. The western half (west of Junor Avenue) was annexed in July 1979, while the eastern half wasn't annexed until May 2000. Some remnant lots along the southern portion of the community rest on lands annexed by the city between 1911 and 1977. Elk Point is a proposed residential neighbourhood in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Saskatchewan ( ; ) is a province in western Canada, bordered on the west by Alberta, on the north by the Northwest Territories, on the east by Manitoba, to the northeast by Nunavut, and on the south by the U.S. states of Montana and North ..., north of 33rd Street and west of the Dundonald community. It will be the second primarily residential neighbourhood to be developed in the city's Blairmore Sector. Westview, Saskatoon
Westview is a suburban community in the Confederation Suburban Development Area (SDA) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Originally named "Tuxedo Park" by real estate developers in 1912, the area remained undeveloped until the 1960s. The east half of Westview is located on land annexed by the city in 1911, while the western half did not become part of Saskatoon until 1960. The majority of development occurred in the 1970s and 1980s (although the neighbourhood, with the more-or-less current street layout, had appeared on city street maps as early as 1961). The neighbourhood was finally completed in the late 1990s. Located in what was at the time the northwest corner of the city, the neighbourhood was on the city's western edge, giving its residents a true "West view". Airport Business Area is an industrial park located in the North Industrial SDA Suburban Development Area of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Industrial parks are usually located close to transport facilities, especially where more than one transport modalities coincide. The Idylwyld Drive North, Sk Hwy 11 Louis Riel Trail, and Sk Hwy 12 concurrency are all accessed directly from the Airport Business Area. The Saskatoon John G. Diefenbaker International Airport is north of the Airport Business Area. Circle Drive marks the southern boundary, with access to SK Hwy 14 and Sk Hwy 16, the Yellowhead Trans Canada. Ernst Friedrich Lindner LL. D. (1 May 1897 – 4 November 1988) was an Austrian-born Canadian painter. He moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in 1926, where became a self-taught commercial artist. He soon was recognized locally and then nationally and was active in several art organizations. He is known for his meticulous watercolors of natural woodlands depicting the cycle of decay and regeneration. Early years Ernst Friedrich Lindner was born on 1 May 1897 in Vienna, Austria. He was the thirteenth child of a German family. His father Karl Oswald Lindner (1844-1919) ran a business that made stylish canes and parasol handles, and employed almost 300 craftsmen. Ernst caught diphtheria as a child of seven, and drew and painted during his long convalescence.
