Hampton College, Peterborough
Hampton College is an all-through school for pupils aged 4 to 18, located in Hampton, Peterborough, England. The school opened to years 7 and 8 in September 2005. By 2008 the school accepted students in years 7 through to 11. Further expansion, including a sixth form, was initially due for completion by 2010. Although the school began AS Level courses in September 2009, the date for the new buildings was reviewed. Phase 2 of the school building programme started 2011. In 2016 the sister school Hampton Gardens was built along with a 3G Astro turf football field. The Hampton Academies Trust was also formed, being led by Hampton College’s former Headmistress, Helen Price, in an attempt to unify the education and community of Hampton. Academy (English School)
An academy school in England is a state-funded school which is directly funded by the Department for Education and independent of local authority control. Hampton is a developing township to the south of Peterborough, in the Peterborough district, in the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire, England. Hampton The first two neighbourhoods to be complete are Hampton Hargate, which is home to a community of around 1,700 homes, and Hampton Vale, with approximately 1,900 homes. Each neighbourhood is based around its own local centre with community facilities, shops and primary school. Peterborough
Peterborough () is a cathedral city in Cambridgeshire, east of England. It is the largest part of the City of Peterborough unitary authority district (which covers a larger area than Peterborough itself). It was part of Northamptonshire until 1974, when county boundary change meant the city became part of Cambridgeshire instead. Peterborough City Council is the local authority for Peterborough in the East of England. It is a unitary authority, having the powers of a non-metropolitan county and district council combined.
