Hammarby is a part of southern Stockholm, located southeast of Södermalm, east of Årsta district, Årsta and Globen, and west of Nacka. Hammarby Sjöstad is a new residential district being developed from wasteground. Sports Hammarby is known for the sports club Hammarby IF. The club was founded in Hammarby in 1889. Södermalm
Södermalm, often shortened to just Söder, is the southern district of Stockholm City Centre. Overview The Södermalm district covers the island of the same name (formerly called ''Åsön''), which, however, is not fully separated from the peninsula of Södertörn (or the rest of the Swedish mainland), as water to both its north and south does not flow freely but passes through a Karl Johansslussen, lock and a Hammarbyleden, man-made waterway. Nacka
Nacka () is the municipal seat of Nacka Municipality and part of Stockholm urban area in Sweden. The municipality's name harks back to a 16th-century industrial operation established by the Crown at Nacka farmstead where conditions for water mills are good. However, and somewhat confusingly, that spot is not densely populated today and the municipal seat is on land that once belonged to Järla farmstead on the other side of Lake Järla. Hammarby Sjöstad
Hammarby Sjöstad is a part of the inner city of Stockholm, currently undergoing major Urban renewal, urban redevelopment as a new residential area. It is located on both sides of lake Hammarby Sjö, bordering Nacka Municipality to the east. The area is part of the districts Södermalm and Södra Hammarbyhamnen. Before the current redevelopment began, the area was known as Norra Hammarbyhamnen and Södra Hammarbyhamnen, a mainly industrial zone centered on the Lumafabriken works, a piece of Functionalism (architecture), functionalist architecture designed by Eskil Sundahl and Arthur von Schmalensee, which now houses a library, restaurants, and offices. The neighbouring Lugnet was a run-down light industrial area, not intended to be permanent, housing an impromptu trailer park. Hammarby Idrottsförening ("Hammarby Sports Club"), commonly known as Hammarby IF or simply Hammarby ( or, especially locally, ), is a Swedish sports club located in Stockholm, with a number of member organizations active in a variety of different sports. It was founded in 1889 as ''Hammarby Roddförening'' ("Hammarby Rowing Association"), but by 1897 the club had diversified and was participating in different sports, leading to the renaming to Hammarby IF. Södra länken (), designated as national road 75 (), is a motorway in Sweden connecting Essingeleden ( E4, E20), Stockholm with Värmdöleden (county road 222), Nacka. Södra länken is in length, of which is in tunnels. This makes it the third longest urban motorway tunnel in Europe after Madrid M30 orbital motorway and Blanka tunnel complex in Prague at . Tvärbanan () is a light-rail, light rail line in Stockholm, Sweden, which runs largely in a semicircle south, west and north around central Stockholm - crosswise to the otherwise radial Stockholm Metro, metro and Stockholm commuter rail, commuter rail lines of Stockholm. It links together several transit lines through its connections with the southern, western and northern metro branches of the Stockholm Metro (''Tunnelbana'') as well as three branches of the Stockholm commuter rail (''Pendeltåg''). A streetcar suburb is a residential community whose growth and development was strongly shaped by the use of streetcar lines as a primary means of transportation.
