Hamisi Kigwangalla
Hamisi Andrea Kigwangalla (born 7 August 1975) is a Tanzanian CCM politician and Member of Parliament for Nzega constituency since 2010. Early life and education Hamisi Andrea Kigwangalla was born on 7 August 1975. His father was a banker with the National Bank of Commerce. His mother, Bagaile Bakari Lumola (a retired CCM employee), was a primary school teacher in Nzega Ndogo Primary School, in Nzega town, where his father was posted to open a new branch of the bank. Kigwangalla's father, Nasser Mahampa Kigwangalla, descends from a well-known Kimbu clan from Goweko – Igalula, and his mother was the daughter of a Nyamwezi Chief, Lumola Bakari Maulid (a key figure in Hamisi A. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Tanzania face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Homosexuality in Tanzania is a socially taboo topic, and same-sex sexual acts (even in private and consensual) are criminal offences, punishable with life imprisonment. The law also punishes heterosexuals who engage in oral sex and anal intercourse. According to the 2007 Pew Global Attitudes Project, 95 percent of Tanzanian residents believed that homosexuality is a way of life that society should not accept, which was the seventh-highest rate of non-acceptance in the 45 countries surveyed. According to Afrobarometer 2020 poll only 10% of Tanzanians would be tolerant of someone with a different sexual orientation which is among the lowest in Africa but higher than a 2007 poll. The Golden Pride Gold Mine is an open pit gold mine located in Nzega District of the Tabora Region in Tanzania. Operated by the Australian mining company Resolute Mining, Golden Pride was the first modern commercial gold mining project developed in Tanzania since the country's formation in 1964. From its opening to 2010, the mine has produced 1.68 million ounces of gold.
