Pick Up The Pieces (Average White Band Song)
"Pick Up the Pieces" is a song by the Average White Band from their second album, '' AWB''. On the single, songwriting credit was given to founding member and saxophonist Roger Ball and guitarist Hamish Stuart individually and the entire band collectively. It is essentially an instrumental, apart from the song's title being shouted at several points in the song. Background The guitar line of the song came from Hamish Stuart, while Roger Ball wrote the first part of the horn melody. The song was produced by Arif Mardin. According to Malcolm 'Molly' Duncan, he had disagreed with releasing the song as a single because the song is a "funk instrumental played by Scotsmen with no lyrics other than a shout". He also said about the shouts of "Pick up the pieces": "It's about picking yourself up when things aren't going well. We'd spent a lot of time making no money whatsoever, so it felt very relevant." The song was included as an extended long version on the live ''Person to Person'' a ...

The New World Tour
In 1993, Paul McCartney and his band embarked upon The New World Tour, spanning almost the entire year and almost the entire globe. This tour featured a controversial pre-concert film (starting in the U.S leg of the tour), which was shown before all of the concerts and had graphic animal test footage in the film. The tour incorporated painted stage sets (at the time the world's largest, measuring 16,400 square feet), projections, and promotional material designed by a regular McCartney collaborator, the artist Brian Clarke. The 1993 World Tour was Paul's last tour for nine years, after his wife and band member Linda McCartney was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1995, as well as Linda's last tour during her lifetime, before she died in 1998 at the age of 56. Promotion The tour was intended to promote McCartney's ninth studio album '' Off the Ground''. Despite having released three albums of live material in the space of the previous three years ('' Tripping the Live Fantastic'', ...

The 103-gig tour, which ran from 1989 through 1990, included a concert played to what was then the largest stadium crowd in the history of rock and roll. Tour The ''World Tour'' was Paul McCartney's first world tour under his own name; it was also his first major tour outing in ten years, following the Wings UK Tour 1979, and his first world tour since the 1976 Wings Over the World Tour (both also with Linda McCartney). While the tour coincided with the release of the solo album ''Flowers in the Dirt'', and promoted that record by inclusion of its songs in the set list, ''The Paul McCartney World Tour'' has been characterised as thematically more about him embracing his The Beatles, Beatles past; for the first time in any of his tours, a substantial number of Beatles songs we ...

''Flowers in the Dirt'' is the eighth solo studio album by Paul McCartney. The album was released on 5 June 1989 on Parlophone, as he was embarking on his first world tour since the Wings Over the World tour in 1975–76. It earned McCartney some of his best reviews for an album of original songs since '' Tug of War'' (1982). The album made number one in the United Kingdom and Norway and produced several hit singles (the first being " My Brave Face"). The album artwork was a collaboration between artist Brian Clarke, who painted the canvas and arranged the flowers, and Linda McCartney, who produced the cover photography. The album was reissued in an expanded form under the '' Paul McCartney Archive Collection'' project in March 2017, with the original demos recorded by McCartney and Elvis Costello included as part of the release. Background and recording After the meagre sales for '' Press to Play'', McCartney realised that he needed to work much harder on his follow-up. Thus, ...
