Hal Monty
Hal Monty (born Albert Sutan; 21 December 1907 – 17 November 1967) was a British comedian and actor. Life and career Sutan was born in Glasgow, the son of Russian Jewish immigrants, and grew up in London. In the late 1920s, he performed as one half of a dance act, Grade and Sutton, with Boris Winogradsky, who later took the name Bernard Delfont. He worked as both Albert Sutton and Eddie May, before taking the stage name Hal Monty. He developed a career in variety shows as a dancer and comedian, with the bill matter, billing "Laugh and Be Happy". He also worked as a booking agent. The Happidrome (radio)
''The Happidrome'' was a BBC radio comedy programme produced in Britain between 1941 and 1947. It was produced by Ernest Longstaffe and starred Harry Korris as Mr Lovejoy, the harassed manager of a small provincial theatre. Other regular cast members were Cecil Frederick as Ramsbottom, the stage manager, and Robbie Vincent as Enoch, the call boy. The show also featured leading performers of the time as guest stars. Walter William "Max" Bygraves (16 October 1922 – 31 August 2012) was an English comedian, singer, actor and variety performer. He appeared on his own television shows, sometimes performing comedy sketches between songs. He made twenty ''Royal Variety Performance'' appearances and presented numerous programmes, including '' Family Fortunes'' between 1983 and 1985. His catchphrase "I wanna tell you a story" became an integral part of his act, although it had originated with comedian Mike Yarwood impersonating Bygraves.
