Hakan Çevik (born 1 May 1976) is a Turkish male paralympic shooter competing in the rifle events. He took part at the 2016 Summer Paralympics. Early life Hakan Çevik was born on 1 May 1976. His spouse Suzan Çevik also is a Paralympic shooter competing in the R2 women's 10m air rifle standing SH1 and R3 women's 10m air rifle prone SH1 events. Hakan Çevik serves as the trainer of her spouse. Sporting career Çevik competes in the R4 mixed team 10m air rifle standing SH2 and R5 mixed team 10m air rifle prone SH2 events. SH2 is the sport class designated specially for rifle shooters with a more severe impairment in the upper limbs so that they need to use a shooting stand. Paralympic Shooting
Paralympic shooting, also known as shooting Para sport (Para Shooting), is an adaptation of shooting sports for competitors with disabilities. Shooting is a test of accuracy and control, in which competitors use pistols or rifles to fire a series of shots at a stationary target. Each shot is worth a maximum score of 10.9 points. Athletes use .22 caliber rifles, pistols and .177 caliber air guns (compressed air or pneumatic). Paralympic shooting first appeared in the Summer Paralympics at the 1976 Summer Paralympics, 1976 Toronto Games. Competitions are open to all athletes with a physical disability. Shooting utilizes a functional classification system, which enables wheelchair users and ambulant athletes from different disability classes to compete together either individually or in teams. The Paralympic Games or Paralympics is a periodic series of international multisport events involving athletes with a range of disabilities. There are Winter and Summer Paralympic Games, which since the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, have been held shortly after the corresponding Olympic Games. All Paralympic Games are governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The Paralympics began as a small gathering of British World War II veterans in 1948.
