Habibollah Sayyari
Habibollah Sayyari (, born 1955) has been appointed the acting Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the former Commander of the Iranian Navy, Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (the "Regular Navy"). On 13 June 2025, following the June 2025 Israeli strikes on Iran, Israeli attack and by order of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, General Habibollah Sayyari was appointed the temporary commander of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, replacing Mohammad Bagheri (general), Mohammad Bagheri. He is a former Marine Commando who fought in the Iran–Iraq war. Military service Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari was commissioned in the Artesh in 1974 and served in Imperial Iran Navy prior to the Revolution. Sayyari saw combat during the Iran-Iraq war as a Naval Commando. Bushehr Marine Rangers Battalion
Bushehr Marine Rangers Battalion is one of the Iranian Navy's elite Marine units. The battalion rose to prominence during the Iran-Iraq War, where it had a significant operational role in the early months of the war and a prominent role in the Second Battle of Khorramshahr. Operation Morvarid During the Operation Morvarid in Iran-Iraq War, the "Bushehr Marine Rangers Battalion" played a prominent role in capture and destruction of two Iraqi docks, "Al-Bakr" and "Al-Amiyah".
