HSG Düsseldorf was a German handball team from Düsseldorf. In was founded in 2000 by a fusion of ''Allgemeinen Rather Turnverein'' and ''HSV Düsseldorf''. It overtook the license of HSV Düsseldorf and thus played in the Bundesliga The Bundesliga (; ), sometimes referred to as the Fußball-Bundesliga () or 1. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a Handball goalkeeper, goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end.
