HP 300LX
__NOTOC__ The HP 300LX was one of the first handheld PCs designed to run the Windows CE 1.0 operating system from Microsoft. Originally announced in 1996, the HP 300LX was released together with the 320LX in the second quarter of 1997. Unlike other HPCs of the time, the resistive touch screen had a higher screen resolution of 640x240 with four shades of grey, rather than the standard 480x240 resolution of other devices, such as the Casio Cassiopeia A-10. The device also sported a full PC card slot, a serial link cable plug, and an infrared port. It was released with 'Pocket' versions of Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and PIM applications such as Tasks, Calendar and Contacts. HP 620LX
The HP 620LX (F1250A, F1259A) is a palmtop computer released by Hewlett-Packard in March 1998. It was shipped with Windows CE 2.0 or 2.11 and included a CompactFlash Type I card slot, a PC card slot, a serial link cable plug, and an infrared port. It has 16 MB of RAM and a Hitachi SH3 processor running at 75 MHz. It also has a 256-color display with a resolution of 640x240. The screen is backlit. It is internet capable by attaching an add-on modem or through an Ethernet or Wi-Fi card. Only Type I PC cards are supported, and special drivers for Windows CE are required. Read-only memory (ROM) is a type of non-volatile memory used in computers and other electronic devices. PC Card is a technical standard specifying an expansion card interface for laptops and personal digital assistants, PDAs. The PCMCIA originally introduced the 16-bit Industry Standard Architecture, ISA-based PCMCIA Card in 1990, but renamed it to PC Card in March 1995 to avoid confusion with the name of the organization. The CardBus PC Card was introduced as a 32-bit version of the original PC Card, based on the Peripheral Component Interconnect, PCI specification.
