HD 192699
HD 192699 is a yellow subgiant star located approximately 214 light-years away in the constellation of Aquila. It has the apparent magnitude of 6.45. Based on its mass of 1.68 solar, it was an A-type star when it was a main-sequence. In April 2007, a planet was announced orbiting the star, together with HD 175541 b and HD 210702 b. The star HD 192699 is named Chechia. The name was selected in the NameExoWorlds campaign by Tunisia, during the 100th anniversary of the IAU. Chechia is a flat-surfaced, traditional red wool hat. NameExoWorlds (also known as IAU NameExoWorlds) is the name of various projects managed by the International Astronomical Union (I.A.U.) to encourage names to be submitted for astronomical objects, which would later be considered for official adoption by the organization. History The first such project (NameExoWorlds I), in 2015, regarded the naming of stars and exoplanets. 573,242 votes were submitted by members by the time the contest closed on October 31, 2015, and the names of 31 exoplanets and 14 stars were selected from these. Many of the names chosen were based on world history, mythology and literature. HD 210702 is a star with an orbiting exoplanet in the northern constellation of Pegasus. It has an apparent visual magnitude of 5.93, which is bright enough that the star is dimly visible to the naked eye. The distance to HD 210702 is 177 light years based on parallax measurements, and it is drifting further away with a radial velocity of 18.5 km/s. It is a probable member of the Ursa Major moving group, an association of co-moving stars. Although a stellar classification of K1 III suggests this is an evolved giant star, it is more likely to be a subgiant star currently at the based of the red giant branch. HD 175541 is an 8th magnitude star with an exoplanetary companion in the constellation Serpens. It has the proper name Kaveh, which was selected by Iran during the NameExoWorlds campaign as part of the 100th anniversary of the IAU. Kaveh is one of the heroes of Shahnameh. The apparent visual magnitude of 8.02 is too faint for this star to be visible in the naked eye. It is located at a distance of approximately 424 light years from the Sun based on parallax measurements, and is drifting further away with a radial velocity of +20 km/s. Despite its distance, it was given the number 736 in the Gliese Catalogue of Nearby Stars. This is an evolved G-type star with a stellar classification of G6/8IV.
