HD-MAC
HD-MAC (High Definition Multiplexed Analogue Components) was a broadcast television systems, broadcast television standard proposed by the European Commission in 1986, as part of Eureka (organisation), Eureka 95 project. It belongs to the Multiplexed Analogue Components, MAC - Multiplexed Analogue Components standard family. It is an early attempt by the European Economic Community, EEC to provide High-definition television (HDTV) in Europe. It is a complex mix of Analog signal, analogue signal (based on the Multiplexed Analogue Components standard), multiplexed with digital sound, and assistance data for decoding (DATV). The video signal (1250 lines/50 fields per second in 16:9 aspect ratio, with 1152 visible lines) was encoded with a modified D2-MAC encoder. Multiple Sub-Nyquist Sampling Encoding
MUSE (Multiple sub-Nyquist Sampling Encoding), commercially known as Hi-Vision (a contraction of HIgh-definition teleVISION) was a Japanese analog high-definition television system, with design efforts going back to 1979. Traditional interlaced video shows either odd or even lines of video at any one time, but MUSE required four fields of video to complete a single video frame. Hi-Vision also refers to a closely related Japanese television system capable of transmitting video with 1035i resolution, in other words 1035 interlaced lines. Multiplexed Analogue Components (MAC) was an analog television standard where luminance and chrominance components were transmitted separately. This was an evolution from older color TV systems (such as PAL or SECAM) where there was interference between chrominance and luminance. MAC was originally proposed in the 1980s for use on a Europe-wide terrestrial HDTV system. Terrestrial transmission tests were conducted in France, although the system was never used for that purpose. Various variants were developed, collectively known as the "MAC/packet" family. In 1985 MAC was recommended for satellite and cable broadcasts by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), with specific variants for each medium. A CRT projector is a video projector that uses a small, high-brightness cathode-ray tube (CRT) as the image generating element. The image is then focused and enlarged onto a screen using a lens kept in front of the CRT face. The first color CRT projectors came out in the early 1950s. Most modern CRT projectors are color and have three separate CRTs (instead of a single, color CRT), and their own lenses to achieve color images. The red, green and blue portions of the incoming video signal are processed and sent to the respective CRTs whose images are focused by their lenses to achieve the overall picture on the screen. Rear-projection television (RPTV) is a type of large-screen television display technology. Until approximately 2006, most of the relatively affordable consumer large screen TVs up to used rear-projection technology. A variation is a video projector, using similar technology, which projects onto a screen. Three types of projection systems are used in projection TVs.
