The Hierarchy of International Vengeance and Extermination (H.I.V.E.) is a fictional terrorist organization appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The H.I.V.E. organization has appeared in ''Teen Titans (TV series), Teen Titans'' and the Arrow season 4, fourth season of The CW show ''Arrow (TV series), Arrow''. Publication history The H.I.V.E. first appeared in ''The New Teen Titans'' #2 and were created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. Fictional team history 1st incarnation The H.I.V.E. Master gathered seven unnamed criminal scientists to assist him in taking over the world and eliminating Superman and the Teen Titans. H.I.V.E.'s first known plot involved kidnapping Lois Lane and removing her memories. They subsequently attempted to learn more about the return of Superman Island from space, and hired Deathstroke the Terminator to kill the New Titans. Deathstroke is a character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez, the character first appeared in ''The New Teen Titans'' #2 (December 1980) as Deathstroke the Terminator. In his comic book appearances, Slade Wilson is a former United States Army, U.S. Army operative who gains enhanced physical and mental abilities from an experimental Supersoldier, super-soldier serum and becomes the mercenary Deathstroke.
