Gunnar Kalrasten
Gunnar Kalrasten (5 September 1905 – 5 May 1964) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Biri. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Oppland Oppland is a former county in Norway which existed from 1781 until its dissolution on 1 January 2020. Biri, Norway
Biri is a village in Gjøvik Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The village is located along the western shore of the lake Mjøsa, about north of the town of Gjøvik. The Norwegian National Road 4 highway runs through the village which is near the Mjøsa Bridge about halfway between the towns of Lillehammer and Gjøvik. The village has a population (2021) of 1,495 and a population density of . History The village of Biri was the administrative centre of the old Biri Municipality which existed from 1838 until 1964 when it was merged into Gjøvik Municipality. The village of Biri has been the commercial centre of the surrounding countryside for a long time. The area has traditionally been centred around agriculture and forestry. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. Oppland
Oppland is a former county in Norway which existed from 1781 until its dissolution on 1 January 2020. The old Oppland county bordered the counties of Trøndelag, Møre og Romsdal, Sogn og Fjordane, Buskerud, Akershus, Oslo and Hedmark. The county administration was located in the town of Lillehammer. Merger On 1 January 2020, the neighboring counties of Oppland and Hedmark were merged to form the new Innlandet county. Both Oppland and Hedmark were the only landlocked counties of Norway, and the new Innlandet county is the only landlocked county in Norway. The two counties had historically been one county that was divided in 1781. Historically, the region was commonly known as "Opplandene". Olav Meisdalshagen
Olav Meisdalshagen (17 March 1903 – 21 November 1959) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party best known for serving as the Norwegian Minister of Finance from December 1947 to November 1951 and as the Norwegian Minister of Agriculture from January 1955 to May 1956. He was also a Member of Parliament for a long time, being elected for the first time in parliamentary election of 1936 and serving until his death, except for the period between 1940 and 1945 when the Parliament of Norway was ''de facto'' defunct due to the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. His death in 1959 came halfway through his fifth term in Parliament, and shortly after a parliamentary speech. A jurist by profession, Meisdalshagen came from a humble family background, growing up at a former crofter's farm in rural Nord-Aurdal, and losing his father in the 1920s. Lars Magnus Moen (29 November 1885 – 22 April 1964) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party who served as Minister of Education and Church Affairs from 1948 to 1953. Per Mellesmo (15 September 1919 in Vågå – 3 May 1993) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Oppland in 1965, and was re-elected on two occasions. He had previously served as a deputy representative during the terms 1954–1957, 1958–1961 and 1961–1965. On the local level she was a member of Nord-Fron municipality council from 1951 to 1963 and 1979 to 1987. From 1967 to 1971 she was also a member of Oppland county council. He chaired the municipal party chapter for several periods.
