Gunnar Berge (born 29 August 1940) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party, born in Etne, Hordaland. Berge represented Rogaland in the Norwegian Parliament from 1969 to 1993. He was Minister of Finance 1986–1989, Minister of Local Government and Regional Development 1992–1996, as well as minister of Nordic Cooperation 1992–1996. The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate ( no, Oljedirektoratet) or OD is a Norwegian government agency responsible for the regulation of the petroleum resources on the Norwegian continental shelf. Based in Stavanger, its mission is to ensure that the petroleum resources are allocated in an optimal way, at the same time incurring minimal environmental impact. Ole Danbolt Mjøs
Ole Danbolt Mjøs (8 March 1939 – 1 October 2013) was a Norwegian physician and politician for the Christian Democratic Party. A professor and former rector at the University of Tromsø, he was known worldwide as the leader of the Norwegian Nobel Committee from 2003 to 2008. Career Born in Bergen, he took the dr.med. degree in 1972. In 1975 he was appointed professor of physiology at the University of Tromsø. From 1989 to 1995 he served as rector there. Mjøs was also well known outside of his academic field. He chaired Kringkastingsrådet from 1990 to 1994, and has held various political offices. From 1998 to 2000 he chaired the so-called ''Mjøs Committee'', which delivered the Norwegian Official Report 2000:14, thus paving way for the so-called Quality Reform. Francis Sejersted (8 February 1936 – 25 August 2015) was a Norwegian history professor and the chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee (which awards the Nobel Peace Prize) from 1991 until 1995. Early life Sejersted was born in Oslo. He performed his military service at the prestigious Russian language program of the Norwegian Armed Forces. He was later educated in history as well as Nordic linguistics and literature at the University of Oslo and achieved a cand.philol. degree in 1965 and a doctorate in 1973.
