Gudrun Schyman
Gerd ''Gudrun'' Maria Schyman (born 9 June 1948) is a Swedish politician. She served as leader of the Swedish Left Party from 1993 until January 2003. She remained a member of the Left Party until 2004, when she left to focus entirely on her feminist political work after a tax evasion scandal. She remained an independent member of the Riksdag until 2006. She co-founded Feminist Initiative in 2005 and was its co-spokesperson from 2005 to 2011 and from 2013 to 2019. She left the party in 2022. Leader of the Left Party In 1993, Schyman was elected leader of the Left Party. Schyman's greatest asset was her appeal to the voters, and her party more than doubled its number of MPs during her leadership. Feminist Initiative (Sweden)
Feminist Initiative ( sv, Feministiskt initiativ; abbreviated FI, Fi, or F!) is a feminist political party in Sweden. The party was formed in 2005 from a pressure group of the same name, and has since taken part in every election to the Riksdag and the European Parliament. The party won its first elected representative in 2014, with Soraya Post taking one seat in the European Parliament. Fi received 3.1% of the vote in the 2014 general election, the best result in its history, and won seats in thirteen municipalities in the 2014 municipal elections – including in Sweden's largest cities of Gothenburg and Stockholm, where it became part of governing " red-green-pink" coalitions. Support for Feminist Initiative dwindled, however, and the party only managed to obtain 0.4% of the vote in the 2018 general election, making it the largest political party without representation in the Riksdag. Studio Total
Studio Total was a Swedish marketing and advertising agency in Stockholm and Malmö. They focused primarily on creative PR, such as guerrilla marketing, and have attracted much attention for several campaigns, both locally and globally. Their first assignment was for Riksteatern, for which the fictional political party " Kulturpartiet" became one of the most successful Swedish PR-campaigns in 2005. On the political theme, Studio Total also stirred up controversy in 2010, when Swedish feminist Gudrun Schyman burned 100,000 kronor (approximately $14,000) in a protest against unequal pay. In 2012 Studio Total won a gold epica for worlds best PR. One of their most noticed campaigns globally is Wall of Sound, the world's biggest iPod speaker for Swedish clothing firm Brothers. General elections were held in Sweden on 19 September 2010 to elect the 349 members of the Riksdag. The main contenders of the election were the governing centre-right coalition the Alliance, consisting of the Moderate Party, the Centre Party, the Liberal People's Party and the Christian Democrats; and the opposition centre-left coalition the Red-Greens, consisting of the Social Democrats, the Left Party and the Green Party. The Swedish Election Authority ( sv, Valmyndigheten) is a Government agencies in Sweden, government agency responsible for organizing national elections and referendums in Sweden. The agency began its operations on 1 July 2001 when it took over the responsibilities from the Swedish Tax Agency, Swedish National Tax Board. Local and regional elections are the responsibility of the respective Municipalities of Sweden, municipalities and County councils of Sweden, county councils, however these elections always take place concurrently with the national elections for the Riksdag. 2009 European Parliament Election In Sweden
The 2009 European Parliament election in Sweden was held on 7 June 2009 and determined the makeup of the Swedish delegation to the European Parliament. The election was held using a modified form of the Sainte-Laguë method of party-list proportional representation using the entire country as a single electoral constituency. There is a threshold limit of 4 percent for Swedish elections to the European Parliament, so that any party not receiving at least four percent of the votes will not be allocated any seats. Sweden will be allocated 18 seats in the European parliament for this term, a reduction from the 19 they were allocated in the 2004 election. From December 2011 Sweden has 20 seats. 2006 Swedish General Election
General elections were held in Sweden on 17 September 2006, to elect members to the Riksdag, the Swedish national legislature. All 349 seats were up for election: 310 fixed seats in 29 constituencies and 39 adjustment seats, used to ensure that parties have representation in the Riksdag proportional to their share of the national vote. The electoral system used was semi-open list proportional representation using the Sainte-Laguë method of allocating seats. Elections for County and Municipal councils were also held on the same day. Fredrik Reinfeldt from the Moderate Party was able to form a majority government together with the Centre Party, Liberal People's Party and the Christian Democrats following the election.
