The village is located along the river Horndøla on the eastern end of the lake Hornindalsvatnet, about southwest of the mountain Hornindalsrokken. Volda is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the Sunnmøre region. The administrative centre is the village of Volda. Hornindal Municipality
Hornindal is a former municipality in the old Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It existed from 1867 until 1965 and then again from 1977 until 2020. It was located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Grodås. The municipality was located at the eastern end of the lake Hornindalsvatnet, the deepest lake in Northern Europe. The rest of the lake lies inside neighboring Eid Municipality. Anders Svor Museum
The Anders Svor Museum is an art museum in Grodås, Norway dedicated to the sculptor Anders Svor (1864–1929), who was from the village. The museum building, which contains most of the sculptor's work, a total of 450 works, was opened in 1953. The collection was transferred to the municipality free of charge by Anders Svor's heirs in a deed of gift of 1941. A condition in the deed was that a fireproof museum building should be built. Because of the war, it took time to carry out the plans, but in 1951 a building permit was granted by the Ministry of Provisioning and Reconstruction. The building was inaugurated on July 12, 1953. A bust of Svor stands in the yard outside. In 1992 the museum was expanded and the exhibition space for the sculpture collection was improved. Kviven Tunnel
The Kviven Tunnel ( no, Kvivstunnelen) is a long road tunnel through the mountain ''Kviven'', along the European route E39 highway. The tunnel is located in Volda Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Hornindalsvatnet
Hornindalsvatnet is Norway's and Europe's deepest lake, and the world's twelfth deepest lake, officially measured to a depth of . Its surface is above sea level, which means that its bottom is below sea level. The village of Grodås lies at the eastern end of the lake in Volda Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county and the village of Mogrenda is located on the western end of the lake in Stad Municipality in Vestland county. The European route E39 highway runs near the lake. The village of Heggjabygda and Heggjabygda Church lie on the northern shore of the lake. Hornindal Church
Hornindal Church ( no, Hornindal kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in the municipality of Volda in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Grodås, at the eastern end of the lake Hornindalsvatnet. It is the church for the Hornindal parish which is part of the Søre Sunnmøre prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1856 using plans drawn up by the architect Ludolph Rolfsen using plans created by Hans Linstow. The church seats about 400 people. Hornindalsrokken is a tall mountain in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located on the border of two municipalities: Stranda Municipality and Volda Municipality. The mountain is sometimes also called ''Honndalsrokken'' or sometimes just ''Rokken'' or ''Rokkjen''. The mountain is located about northeast of the village of Grodås and lake Hornindalsvatnet. It is also located about west of the village of Hellesylt in Stranda Municipality. It also lies about southeast of the village of Leira in Volda Municipality. Sunnmøre (, en, South- Møre) is the southernmost traditional district of the western Norwegian county of Møre og Romsdal. Its main city is Ålesund.
