Grendel P30
The Grendel P30 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire. Designed by George Kellgren and manufactured by Grendel Inc., it uses a 30-round Zytel magazine and was available with a 5 or 8 inch barrel. A carbine version ( R-31) was also offered. It was manufactured from 1990 to 1994. The P-30 uses a straight blow-back operation, with the assistance of a fluted chamber to reduce case friction during extraction. Semi-automatic Pistol
A semi-automatic pistol is a type of repeating single-chamber handgun ( pistol) that automatically cycles its action to insert the subsequent cartridge into the chamber (self-loading), but requires manual actuation of the trigger to actually discharge the following shot. As a result, only one round of ammunition is fired each time the trigger is pulled, as the pistol's fire control group disconnects the trigger mechanism from the firing pin/ striker until the trigger has been released and reset. Additional terms sometimes used as synonyms for a semi-automatic pistol are self-loading pistol, autopistol, autoloading pistol, and automatic pistol (E.G.: Automatic Colt Pistol). George Kellgren
George Kellgren (b. May 23, 1943) is a Swedish-born firearms designer, inventor and founder of the gun manufacturer Kel-Tec. His designs include the Intratec TEC-9, Kel-Tec P-11, Kel-Tec KSG, Kel-Tec SUB-2000 carbine and Grendel Inc., Grendel .380 ACP pocket pistol. Kellgren is the owner and Chief Engineer of Kel-Tec CNC. He designed many firearms earlier for Husqvarna Vapenfabriks Aktiebolag, Husqvarna and Swedish Interdynamics AB in Sweden. He moved to the USA in 1979 and his original USA designs were for Intratec and Grendel Inc., Grendel brand firearms. He founded Kel-Tec in 1991. Grendel is a character in the Anglo-Saxon epic poem ''Beowulf'' (700–1000). He is one of the poem's three antagonists (along with his mother and the dragon), all aligned in opposition against the protagonist Beowulf. Grendel is feared by all in Heorot but Beowulf. A magazine is an ammunition storage and feeding device for a repeating firearm, either integral within the gun (internal/fixed magazine) or externally attached (detachable magazine). Zytel
Zytel is a trademark owned by DuPont and used for a number of different high strength, abrasion and impact resistant thermoplastic polyamide formulations of the family more commonly known as nylon. The Zytel product line is based mostly on nylon 66, but also includes grades based on nylon 6 as a matrix, long chain nylons such as nylon 610 (if based on at least one renewable monomer they are branded Zytel RS), and copolymers including a transparent resin called Zytel 330. Resins based on polyphthalamides are branded 'Zytel HTN'. The Grendel R31 is a semi-automatic carbine by Grendel Inc. that is chambered in .22 Winchester Magnum cartridge and is fed via 30-round, detachable box magazine that is housed in the pistol grip. Blowback is a system of operation for self-loading firearms that obtains energy from the motion of the cartridge case as it is pushed to the rear by expanding gas created by the ignition of the propellant charge. In firearms, the chamber is the cavity at the back end of a breechloader's barrel or cylinder, where the cartridge is inserted before being fired. The Kel-Tec PMR-30 is a full-size semi-automatic pistol manufactured by Kel-Tec of the United States. It was made available in 2011. It has a single action trigger pull of and a manual safety device. It is chambered in .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire and the special, factory-shipped, double-stack magazine has a capacity of 30 rounds. The PMR-30 uses fixed fiber optic open sights. The slide is also pre-drilled to allow for the mounting of various red-dot sights with the purchase of appropriate mounting plates from the manufacturer. It has a European-style magazine release.
