Great South (Italy)
Great South ( it, Grande Sud) was a centre-right regionalist political party in Italy. History In January 2012 GS formed a sub-group in the Mixed Group of the Chamber of Deputies, including the seven FdS deputies ( Giuseppe Fallica, Ugo Grimaldi, Maurizio Iapicca, Gianfranco Micciché, Antonino Minardo, Francesco Stagno D'Alcontres and Giacomo Terranova) and two new entries ( Aurelio Misiti, from Italy of Values, who was appointed chairman, and Gerardo Soglia, from the PdL), but not the three deputies of NS. In March 2012 the party was joined by Giancarlo Pittelli. I the South (''Io Sud'', IS), was a conservative regionalist political party in Italy, which has been a faction of Brothers of Italy since 2014. The party emerged in 2009 as an Apulian split from National Alliance (AN) led by Adriana Poli Bortone, shortly before AN was merged into The People of Freedom (PdL). Soon after the party approached to the Union of the Centre (UdC) in order to form a centrist party as an alternative to the PdL, and in this perspective Poli Bortone joined UdC in a common group in the Senate. At the 2009 provincial elections the party won 7.3% in Lecce (while Poli Bortone won 21.9% as candidate for President supported also by the UdC), 3.4% in Taranto and 2.0% in Brindisi. The Sicilian People's Movement (''Movimento Popolare Siciliano'', MPS) was a regional centrist political party active in Sicily, Italy. It was the Sicilian regional section of the Movement for the Autonomies (MpA). History In August 2012 it was announced that the Sicilian section of the MpA would be renamed Party of Sicilians (PdS).
