Gidon Graetz (born 1929, Tel AvivSeveral, Michael, (December 1998)Gidon Graetz Biographical Information/ref>) is a Swiss-Israeli sculptor. He studied in the mid-1950s at Accademia delle Belle Arti in Firenze and at Les Beaux-Arts in Paris. His public art sculptures are found widespread in cities such as Zürich, Detroit, New York City, Los Angeles, Brisbane, Chicago and Berlin, and has exhibited work in Europe, Australia and the United States. Settled in a castle in Fiesole overlooking Firenze in Tuscany, Graetz is married to Sunniva Rasmussen, and among their four children is the Tuscan winemaker Azienda Agricola Testamatta, Bibi Graetz. Rudi Graetz (1907 – 1 October 1977) was a German esperantist. In fluid dynamics, the Graetz number (Gz) is a dimensionless number that characterizes laminar flow in a conduit. Slovenj Gradec (; german: Windischgrätz'', ''after about 1900 ''Windischgraz'') is a town in northern Slovenia. It is the centre of the City Municipality of Slovenj Gradec. It is part of the historical Styria region, and since 2005 it has belonged to the NUTS-3 Carinthia Statistical Region. It is located in the Mislinja Valley at the eastern end of the Karawanks mountain range, about west of Maribor and northeast of Ljubljana. Hradec nad Moravicí (; german: Grätz) is a town in Opava District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 5,400 inhabitants. The historic town centre with the castle complex is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Grodzisk Wielkopolski (german: Grätz) is a town in western Poland, in Greater Poland Voivodeship (Wielkopolskie), with a population of 13,703 (2006). It is south-west of Poznań, the voivodeship capital. It is the seat of Grodzisk Wielkopolski County, and also of the smaller administrative district called Gmina Grodzisk Wielkopolski. The suffix "Wielkopolski" distinguishes it from the town of Grodzisk Mazowiecki in east-central Poland. The House of Windisch-Graetz, also spelled Windisch-Grätz, is an Austrian-Slovenian aristocratic family, descending from Windischgraz in Lower Styria (present-day Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia). The noble dynasty serving the House of Habsburg achieved the rank of ''Freiherren'' in 1551, of Imperial Counts in 1682 and of Princes of the Holy Roman Empire in 1804. The family belongs to high nobility. History According to the Almanach de Gotha, the family was first recorded in 1242. They temporarily served as ''ministeriales'' of the Patriarchs of Aquileia, owners of Slovenj Gradec until the mid 14th century. Robert Graetz
Robert Sylvester Graetz Jr. (May 16, 1928 – September 20, 2020) was a Lutheran clergyman who, as the white pastor of a black congregation in Montgomery, Alabama, openly supported the Montgomery bus boycott, a landmark event of the civil rights movement. Biography Graetz, of German descent, was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and educated in Columbus, Ohio. His father was an engineer with the Libbey-Owens-Ford Co. At Capital University in Bexley, Ohio, from which he graduated in 1950, he started a "campus race relations club"; Walter White, the leader of the NAACP, was one of the club's speakers. Graetz received a B.D. in 1955 from Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. He married Jean Ellis (known as Jeannie) on June 10, 1951, in East Springfield, Pennsylvania.
