Goebel Soccer Complex
Goebel Soccer Complex is a multi-purpose, $3.4 million project that opened in the spring of 2004 on of land in Evansville, Indiana. The facility has nine Olympic-size irrigated Bermuda grass fields and one Olympic-size AstroPlay turf field. The main field and five of the grass fields have lights for night play. In addition to soccer, the complex also hosts football and lacrosse events. Professional teams The facility has been home to various minor league football teams including the Evansville Enforcers of the Great Midwest Football League, the Evansville Vipers of the Ohio Valley Football League, the Tri-State Titans of the Mid Ohio Football League, the Ohio River Bearcats of the Midwest Football League and the Evansville Express of the National Women's Football Association. AstroTurf is an American subsidiary of SportGroup that produces artificial turf for playing surfaces in sports. Ohio Valley Premier League
The Ohio Valley Premier League (OVPL) is a United States Adult Soccer Association, USASA-affiliated league through US Club Soccer that includes teams from Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The regular season of the OVPL runs May through July. It is the only premier U23 adult amateur league in the region. The men's division was announced in November 2019 and the women's division was announced in February 2020. Both were due to begin play in summer 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the summer season was cancelled and a fall season was started. In 2021, the OVPL also hosted a spring season. National Women's Football Association
The National Women's Football Association (NWFA) was a full-contact American football league for women headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. The league was founded by Catherine Masters in 2000, as the two benchmark teams, the Alabama Renegades and the Nashville Dream played each other six times in exhibition games. The opening season was in 2001 featuring ten teams. The NWFA did not officially field any teams for the 2009 season.
