Geoff Posner
Geoffrey Harold Posner (born 7 July 1949) is a British television producer and director. Posner has directed and produced some of Britain's most successful comedy shows since the early 1980s. Career Starting off as a director on the satirical show ''Not the Nine O'Clock News'', he also directed Revolting Women for BBC Manchester in 1981, a sketch show featuring amongst others Jeni Barnett and Linda Broughton, and in 1982 went on to direct the groundbreaking BBC2 anti-sitcom '' The Young Ones''. Working also as an assistant producer on that show, he went on to produce in the same year the unaired pilot of the Rowan Atkinson historical sitcom ''Blackadder''. One of his biggest successes came in 1985, when he produced and directed the multi-award-winning ''Victoria Wood As Seen On TV'', a sketch show written by (and starring) the comedian. Not The Nine O'Clock News
''Not the Nine O'Clock News'' is a British television sketch comedy show which was broadcast on BBC2 from 1979 to 1982. Originally shown as a comedy alternative to the '' Nine O'Clock News'' on BBC1, it features satirical sketches on then-current news stories and popular culture, as well as parody songs, comedy sketches, re-edited videos, and spoof television formats. The programme features Rowan Atkinson, Pamela Stephenson, Mel Smith, and Griff Rhys Jones, as well as Chris Langham in the first series. Format The format was a deliberate departure from the stream-of-consciousness meta-comedy pioneered by ''Monty Python's Flying Circus'', returning to a more conventional sketch format. Diamond Jubilee Concert
The Diamond Jubilee Concert was a British music concert and celebration held outside Buckingham Palace on The Mall in London on 4 June 2012. The concert was organised by Take That singer-songwriter Gary Barlow and was part of Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The Diamond Jubilee Concert followed two concerts held at the palace for the Queen's Golden Jubilee a decade earlier – the classical themed Prom at the Palace and the pop/rock themed Party at the Palace, followed by the Platinum Party at the Palace for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022. The concert was partially attended by the Queen, who arrived at 9 pm, but not by Prince Philip who had been taken to hospital with a bladder infection earlier in the day. Prince Charles and other members of the royal family attended the whole concert. The Tony Ferrino Phenomenon
''The Tony Ferrino Phenomenon'' is a British comedy written by and starring Steve Coogan and produced by Pozzitive Television. It centres around a concert given by the Portuguese popstar Tony Ferrino (played by Coogan), a music and dance spectacular which featured pop stars Mick Hucknall, Kim Wilde and Gary Wilmot in cameo roles. The spoof choreography was led by a young Bruno Tonioli, and a recorded version of Steve Coogan as Tony Ferrino singing Tom Jones's "Help Yourself" was released by RCA Records at the same time as the TV show was released. As part of the illusion that Tony Ferrino was a real character, the BBC also showed a fake documentary interview about Tony Ferrino's life - '' Introducing Tony Ferrino - Who? And Why? - A Quest''. ''Coogan's Run'' is a 1995 UK TV series featuring Steve Coogan as a series of odd characters living in the fictional town of Ottle. It was written by various people including Coogan, Patrick Marber, David Tyler, Graham Linehan, Arthur Mathews, Geoffrey Perkins and Henry Normal. ''Pauline Calf's Wedding Video'', also known as ''Three Fights, Two Weddings, and a Funeral'' is a British comedy written by and starring Steve Coogan, which won the 1995 BAFTA TV Award for Best Comedy. It was produced by Geoff Posner and David Tyler (producer) for Pozzitive Television, following the success of Paul Calf's Video Diary, which had been broadcast on New Year's Day in 1994. Overview The main plot revolves around Mancunian bombshell Pauline Calf (played by Coogan) in the run-up to her marriage, depicting her disastrous hen night (involving a knife fight in a toilet) and her calamitous wedding day. Stephen John Coogan (; born 14 October 1965) is an English actor, comedian, producer and screenwriter. He is most known for creating original characters such as Alan Partridge, a socially inept and politically incorrect media personality, which he developed while working with Armando Iannucci on ''On the Hour'' and ''The Day Today''. Partridge has featured in several television series and the 2013 film '' Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa''. In 1999, he co-founded the production company Baby Cow Productions with Henry Normal.
