Geoff Miller (public Servant)
Geoffrey Lee Miller (26 January 194210 October 2014) was a senior Australian public servant. Life and career Geoff Miller was born in Grafton, New South Wales on 26 January 1942. For high school, he attended Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School in Tamworth, New South Wales. His university studies were at the University of New England where he completed a degree in agricultural economics with first class honours. He began his career in a state agricultural department, before shifting to work for CSR Limited. In 1986, Miller was appointed Secretary of the Department of Primary Industry. Helen Rodda Williams (born 21 March 1945) is a retired Australian senior public servant. She was the first woman in the Australian Public Service to be appointed as a Secretary of an Australian government department. Early life Helen Williams was born in Adelaide, South Australia on 21 March 1945, the daughter of academics Sir Bruce Williams and Roma Williams. Career Early in her public service career, Williams joined the second division in the Department of Finance in 1979, her employment was controversial at the time due to her being a woman. When she was promoted to Deputy Secretary in the Department of Education and Youth Affairs in 1983, she became the first woman to hold a deputy secretary position in the Australian Government sphere. Tony Blunn
Anthony Stuart "Tony" Blunn (born 1936) is a retired Australian senior public servant. Life and career Tony Blunn was born in 1936. He joined the Australian Public Service at the age of 21, after four years with a firm of solicitors in Melbourne. In 1979 Blunn took a position in the Department of Finance, in an area linked with works, mainland Territories, defence and other areas. He moved to the Department of Business and Consumer Affairs in 1980, and was appointed to his first permanent Secretary role in 1981 as head of the Department of the Capital Territory. Blunn was appointed Secretary of the Attorney General's Department in 1998, replacing Stephen Skehill who resigned from the role. Blunn retired from the public service in December 1999. Gregory Frank Taylor is a retired Australian senior public servant, he was head of the Department of Primary Industries and Energy between 1993 and 1996. From 1997 to 2000 Taylor was Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund.
