Güzelyalı Bridge
The Göztepe Şehit Kerem Oğuz Erbay Overpass ( tr, Göztepe Şehit Kerem Oğuz Erbay Üstgeçidi), commonly known as Güzelyalı Bridge ( tr, Güzelyalı Köprüsü) or just the Bridge tr, Köprü), is a long cable-stayed bridge in İzmir, Turkey. Located in southwest Konak, the bridge is a pedestrian overpass that crosses the Mustafa Kemal Coastal Boulevard. Opened in October 1997, the overpass has become a symbol of Göztepe and its surrounding neighborhoods. Mustafa Kemal Coastal Boulevard
The Mustafa Kemal Coastal Boulevard ( tr, Mustafa Kemal Sahil Bulvarı) is a major thoroughfare in İzmir, Turkey. Consisting of six lanes, it stretches from Cumhuriyet Boulevard in Çankaya to the İzmir-Çeşme motorway in Üçkuyular, running along the southeastern coast of the Gulf of İzmir. The road was one of the city's first major projects at restructuring and improving İzmir's existing road network. The route was constructed upon reclaimed land, due to lack of space on the pre-existing coast, and built as a six-lane boulevard. Considered an urban extension of the Çeşme motorway, the Mustafa Kemal Coastal Boulevard was originally planned to continue north into Alsancak along the shore, then turn east and connect to the D.300 and D.550 state highways in Halkapınar. Cable-stayed Bridge
A cable-stayed bridge has one or more ''towers'' (or ''pylons''), from which cables support the bridge deck. A distinctive feature are the cables or stays, which run directly from the tower to the deck, normally forming a fan-like pattern or a series of parallel lines. This is in contrast to the modern suspension bridge, where the cables supporting the deck are suspended vertically from the main cable, anchored at both ends of the bridge and running between the towers. The cable-stayed bridge is optimal for spans longer than cantilever bridges and shorter than suspension bridges. This is the range within which cantilever bridges would rapidly grow heavier, and suspension bridge cabling would be more costly. Konak, İzmir
Konak is a district of İzmir Province in Turkey. It is the most densely populated of the eleven main urban districts of İzmir, and has historically acted as the administrative and economic core of the city. Situated in an area that roughly corresponds to the geographic center of İzmir, Konak extends for along the southern coastline of the Gulf of İzmir. A long panhandle that the district area draws in the direction of the southwest, on the other hand, also covers a large rural area, mostly covered with mountains and forests, and two isolated villages.
