Gültekin Kaan
Gültekin Kaan is a Turkish German musician and singer born in Backnang and raised in Remscheid Germany. He merges Western pop culture with elements of Turkish art and folk music. He performs with his own band under the name Gültekin Kaan & diVan. Kaan's lyrics in Turkish tell stories based on Turkish history and fables. He puts special focus on visual appearance by taking role of a Turkish sultan with his court of grand viziers, pashas, emirs, belly dancers and bodyguards, dressed in Eastern robes. Backnang
Backnang (; ) is a town in Germany in the Bundesland (Germany), Bundesland of Baden-Württemberg, roughly northeast of Stuttgart. Its population has increased greatly over the past century, from 7,650 in 1900 to 37,957 in 2022. Backnang was ceded to Württemberg by the Grand Duchy of Baden, Baden (Zähringer family) in 1325. Backnang has been known as ''Gerberstadt'' due to several Tanning (leather), tanneries and leather factory, factories, and wool and Textile manufacturing, cloth mills that dominated Backnang's industries. The goblet drum (also chalice drum, tarabuka, tarabaki, darbuka, darabuka, derbake, debuka, doumbek, dumbec, dumbeg, dumbelek, toumperleki, tumbak, or zerbaghali; / Romanized: ) is a single-head membranophone with a goblet-shaped body. Grand Vizier
Grand vizier (; ; ) was the title of the effective head of government of many sovereign states in the Islamic world. It was first held by officials in the later Abbasid Caliphate. It was then held in the Ottoman Empire, the Mughal Empire, the Sokoto Caliphate, the Safavid dynasty, Safavid Empire and Morocco, Cherifian Empire of Morocco. Sultan
Sultan (; ', ) is a position with several historical meanings.
