Gülsüm Güleçyüz (born November 16, 1993) is a Turkish women's handballer, who plays in the Turkish Women's Handball Super League for Muratpaşa Bld. SK, and the Turkey national team. She plays in the right back position. Playing career Club Gülsüm Güleçyüz plays right back for Muratpaşa Bld. SK, which competes in the Turkish Women's Handball Super League. Her team became league champion for two consecutive seasons in 2012–13, 2013–14. In the 2014–15 season, her team lost the champion title in the play-offs. Gülsüm Kav (born 1971) is a Turkish feminist activist, writer and doctor. She is one of the founders of the organisation We Will Stop Femicide Platform, who raise awareness of gender-based violence in Turkey and campaign on behalf of the families of victims of femicide. Biography Kav was born in 1971. She graduated from Eskişehir Anadolu University Faculty of Medicine in 1996 and in 2002 she was appointed a specialist at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Deontology Department. Gülsüm Åžeyma Tatar (February 6, 1985 in Kars, Turkey) is a world and European champion Turkish female boxer. After having boxed seven years for the sports club Fenerbahçe Boxing in Istanbul, she transferred in 2010 to Birlikspor in Kayseri, Turkey. She comes from a family of boxers. Her uncle, Kibar Tatar, was a notable Turkish boxer, and her brother was interested in boxing. She was educated in physical education at Fırat University in Elazığ. She became gold medalist in the lightweight (60 kg) division at the 2004 European Women's Boxing Championships held in Riccione, Italy before she participated at the 3rd World Women's Boxing Championship held between September 25 and October 2, 2005 in Podolsk, Russia, and fought a silver medal. Gulsum Asfendiyarova (November 12 1880, Tashkent – 1937, Tashkent) was the first Kazakh woman to earn a medical degree. She played a key role in organizing the healthcare system in the Turkestan region and was also a dedicated medical educator. Biography Early life and education Asfendiyarova was born in 1880 in Tashkent. She was the third daughter of Seitzhafar Asfendiyarov, a descendant of Abu'l Khair Khan of the Junior Jüz, and Gulyandam Asfendiyarova (née Kasymova). Her father served as a military interpreter under the Turkestan Governor-General and retired in 1916 with the rank of Major-General.
