Gülden Karaböcek
Saniye Gülden Göktürk, better known as Gülden Karaböcek (born 4 November 1953) is a Turkish fantezi and arabesque singer. Life and career Early years and career beginnings Karaböcek is one of the first names in arabesque and fantasy music and has tried many styles during her music career but she has earned reputation primarily from her unique arabesque songs which feature fantasy elements. Born Saniye Gülden Göktürk, after completing her primary and secondary education in Ankara, she took singing and solfege lessons from Yaşar Aydaş at Ankara Radio. She came to Istanbul with her family from Ankara and completed her first records at the age of 14–15: "Yazılanlar Gelir Başa & Garip Kaldım". Famous artist Orhan Gencebay accompanied Karaböcek on this plaque, playing bağlama. ''Milliyet'' ( Turkish for "''nationality''") is a daily newspaper published in Istanbul, Turkey. History and profile ''Milliyet'' came to publishing life at the Nuri Akça press in Babıali, Istanbul as a daily private newspaper on 3 May 1950. Its owner was Ali Naci Karacan. Drum'n'bass
Drum and bass (commonly abbreviated as DnB, D&B, or D'n'B) is a genre of electronic dance music characterised by fast breakbeats (typically 165–185 beats per minute) with heavy bass and sub-bass lines, samples, and synthesizers. The genre grew out of the UK's jungle scene in the 1990s. The popularity of drum and bass at its commercial peak ran parallel to several other UK dance styles. Sound Clash
A sound clash is a musical competition where crew members from opposing sound systems pit their skills against each other. Sound clashes take place in a variety of venues, both indoors and outdoors, and primarily feature reggae and dancehall music. The object is to beat or "kill" their competitors. In Jamaica, sound clashes, with their "violently martial ethos", date back at least to the 1950s, when systems like Tom the Great Sebastian and Duke Reid's the Trojan clashed in the old Back-O-Wall (now Tivoli Gardens) neighborhood of Kingston. Sometimes these clashes turned violent, with one system destroying the other system's equipment. The first reported clash was between Tom the Great Sebastian and Count Nick in 1952. A sound system is a group of DJs and audio engineers contributing and working together as one, playing and producing music over a large PA system or sound reinforcement system, typically for a dance event or party. Origin The sound system concept originated in the 1950s in Kingston, Jamaica. DJs would load up a truck with a generator, turntables, and huge speakers to set up street parties. The sound system scene is a part of Jamaican cultural history and responsible for the rise of modern Jamaican musical styles such as ska, rocksteady, reggae and dub. When Jamaicans emigrated to the United Kingdom, the sound system culture followed and became firmly rooted there in the 1970s.
