Górecki (song)
"Górecki" is a 1997 single by Lamb from their debut album '' Lamb''. The song samples the second movement of Henryk Górecki's Third Symphony, the ''Symphony of Sorrowful Songs''. The song has been featured in numerous TV shows, movies and video games, including the 2006 ''Torchwood'' episode "They Keep Killing Suzie" and the 1998 slasher film ''I Still Know What You Did Last Summer''. The opening lines were sung by Nicole Kidman's character Satine in the 2001 movie ''Moulin Rouge!'' It was also used for the launch trailer for ''Crystal Dynamics game '' Tomb Raider: Underworld'' in 2008, and featured prominently in a daydream sequence of the first episode of '' Night and Day'', a 2001 ITV serial drama. The song was also mentioned and featured in an episode of soap opera ''Hollyoaks'', transmitted on 10 November 2010. The song peaked at No. 30 on the UK singles chart. Lamb (electronic Band)
Lamb were an English electronic music duo from Manchester, whose music is influenced by trip hop, drum and bass and jazz. The duo consists of producer Andy Barlow and singer-songwriter Lou Rhodes. They achieved commercial success with the hit singles '' Górecki'' and ''Gabriel''. Biography On the basis of three songs, Barlow and Rhodes signed a six-album deal with Mercury Records in 1995. They released their first album, the self-titled '' Lamb'' in September 1996, and followed this up with another three albums and a cache of singles over the next eight years, culminating in the release of a greatest hits album, '' Best Kept Secrets'', in June 2004. While they seemed destined for stardom, it seemed to evade them and during the early 2000s they lost momentum and played live only sporadically. Still, a 2004 tour produced memorable shows. ''Night and Day'' is a British mystery soap opera, produced by Granada Television for LWT, that first broadcast on 6 November 2001 on ITV, and ran until 5 June 2003. The series was launched as part of ITV's new early evening line-up, with an enormous amount of pre-publicity and trailers promoting the series. Global Communication
Global Communication is an electronic music duo consisting of Tom Middleton and Mark Pritchard; the duo have also recorded under other aliases, including Reload and Jedi Knights. They founded the labels Evolution Records and Universal Language Productions. Their 1994 album '' 76:14'', released on Dedicated Records, became an acclaimed work of 1990s ambient and electronic music. Jimpster (a.k.a. Audiomontage, a.k.a. Franc Spangler, real name Jamie Odell) is a Great Britain, British deep house record producer, producer and disc jockey, DJ. Together with Tom Roberts, he founded the record label, labels Freerange Records and Delusions of Grandeur.
