Gåshaga Brygga
Gåshaga brygga (''Gåshaga jetty'') is the eastern Terminal station, terminus of the Lidingöbanan light rail in Lidingö Municipality, Lidingö east of central Stockholm, Sweden. It is possible to interchange with the Waxholmsbolaget archipelago boats at this stop. The current Gåshaga brygga stop was inaugurated on May 7, 2001 after rebuilding the stretch from the Gåshaga stop down to the water, a portion of the line that hadn't been in use since 1946. Lidingö (), also known in its definite form Lidingön and as Lidingölandet, is an island in the inner Stockholm archipelago, northeast of Stockholm, Sweden. Lidingöbanan
Lidingöbanan () is a light-rail line in Stockholm, Sweden, between Ropsten and Gåshaga brygga, serving the southern half of Lidingö island. History The Lidingöbanan has its origins in the ''Stockholm-Södra Lidingöns Järnväg'' (Stockholm-Southern Lidingö Railway), proposed by inventor Gustaf Dalén, opened for traffic 1914. It got ferry-less access to Stockholm when the Lidingö bridge was opened 1925. Public transportation on Lidingöbanan has always been provided using tram cars, but in the past Lidingöbanan also carried goods traffic. At its largest, Lidingöbanan extended to Humlegården in Stockholm through Stockholms Spårvägar's tramway network, with access to the Värtabanan freight railway track. There was also traffic on a track on the north side of Lidingö island which terminated at Kyrkviken, but that section closed in 1971. Lidingö town centre is now accessible only by bus. Lidingö Municipality (, semi-officially ) is a municipalities of Sweden, municipality east of Stockholm in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. Its seat is located on the island of Lidingö. The municipality is a part of Metropolitan Stockholm. It is chiefly located on the island Lidingö, but also incorporates a few smaller islands in the surroundings, most notably the Fjäderholmarna islands within the Stockholm archipelago. Waxholms Ångfartygs AB, commonly referred to as Waxholmsbolaget, is a shipping company owned by Stockholm county council and is responsible for the seaborne public transport in the Stockholm archipelago and Stockholm harbour. The company, which is mostly tax-funded, carried about 4.3 million travellers in 2003, covering a region from Arholma in north of the archipelago to Landsort in the south. The company owns 20 archipelago boats, and four boats for the inner-city Djurgården ferry line.
