Gästgivars
Gästgivars is a Swedish farm in the Bollnäs Municipality and the province of Hälsingland. It is one of the seven Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland, decorated farms of Hälsingland which are collectively recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1 July 2012. Decorated Farmhouses Of Hälsingland
The Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland () is a World Heritage Site inscribed on 1 July 2012 as Sweden's List of World Heritage Sites in Sweden, fifteenth entry on the list. Seven farmhouses erected in the 19th century were eventually selected to represent the most distinguished and well preserved examples of local architectural and decorative tradition. Preparations for a nomination began during the 1990s. The initial nomination was a heterogeneous collection of farmhouses and environments connected to agrarian culture in Hälsingland. Fifteen sites, including an entire village were represented. The first nomination was rejected at the conference in Sevilla in 2009, with the suggestion of curating a narrower selection of sites. Jonas Wallström
Jonas Wallström, born Andersson (6 April 179826 April 1862) was a Swedish decorative painter. He is known for the use of stencils to create elaborate patterns and for decorating the interiors of World Heritage Site Gästgivars in Vallsta, Hälsingland. Biography Wallström was born in Vallsta village in Hälsingland. He was the son of soldier and lumberjack Anders Krok (1768–1837) and Greta Jonsdotter (1770–1853), and the second oldest among four children. Between 1814 and 1821 he lived in Hudiksvall while working as a apprentice of master painter Anders Winberg. He would later move back to Vallsta. At some point during or after his apprenticeship he adopted the surname Wallström after his home village. He continued his studies as a journeyman at Gustaf Söderbergs workshop in Stockholm between 1823 and 1831. Bollnäs Municipality
Bollnäs Municipality () is a municipality in Gävleborg County, east central Sweden. Its seat is located in Bollnäs. The municipality evolved during a series of local government reforms in the 1950s and 1970s. It consists of six original entities and has its present shape since 1977. Geography Through the municipality, from north to southeast, runs the river Ljusnan. Among the localities situated at the river are Bollnäs and Arbrå. South of Bollnäs is the confluence of Ljusnan and its biggest tributary Voxnan. Nearby the town of Bollnäs are several water areas with fish such as trout, bass and pike.
