Groß-Enzersdorf is a town and municipality in the district of Gänserndorf in the Austrian state of Lower Austria, directly east of Vienna and north of the river Danube. Apart from the town itself, it also comprises seven subordinated municipalities. History While the area was inhabited in pre-Roman times, the first written mention of the settlement by the name of ''Encinesdorf'' dates back to 1160. At its current location, an estate was built about 870.
