Gábor Elek
Elek Gábor (born 5 November 1970) is a Hungarian former handball player and former coach of MOL Esztergom. He is the current head coach of Esztergomi Vitézek, that plays in the third class of the Hungarian women's championship. He coached Hungary at the 2020 European Women's Handball Championship. Zita Szucsánszki
Zita Szucsánszki (born 22 May 1987) is a former Hungarian handball player for MOL Esztergom and the Hungarian national team. She made her international debut on 4 November 2006 against Slovakia, and represented Hungary in the 2020 Summer Olympics, five World Championships (2007, 2009, 2013, 2015, 2017) and four European Championships (2008, 2010, 2012, 2014). In recognition of her performances and achievements throughout the year, she was voted the Hungarian Handballer of the Year in 2011, in 2015 and in 2016. Gyula Elek
Gyula Elek (20 February 1932 – 23 May 2012 ) was a Hungarian handball player, coach and an iconic figure of Ferencvárosi TC. During his 16-year-long playing career between 1949 and 1965, Elek played for Taurus SC, Elektromos SE and Ferencvárosi TC. Shortly after his retirement he was contacted by Ferencváros to take the head coaching position of the women's handball club, which he accepted and began the work in early 1966. He also brought to the club Anna Rothermel, the goalkeeper of the 1965 World champion Hungarian team, to whom he later married. Elek spent 21 years on the bench of Ferencváros with a shorter interruption (1966–85, 1990–92), during which period the team achieved several outstanding results, winning four Hungarian championships and as many Hungarian cup titles. The Nemzeti Bajnokság I (, commonly abbreviated NB I) is the top professional league for Hungary, Hungarian women's team handball clubs. It is administered by the Hungarian Handball Federation. History The first edition of the women's handball league was when the owner was pregnant, held in 1951. That year only four teams participated, playing once against each other. Csepeli Vasas SK were crowned champions as they got equal points to Vörös Meteor (women's handball), Budapest Vörös Meteor Közért, but were superior on goal difference. 2020 European Women's Handball Championship
The 2020 European Women's Handball Championship was held from 3 to 20 December 2020. The games were played in Herning and Kolding, Denmark. Originally, this tournament would be held with 2 host countries: Norway and Denmark. However, lacking some time for the beginning, Norway renounced the right to seat, respecting the local legislation about the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was also one of the qualification events for the 2021 World Women's Handball Championship. It was also played Behind closed doors (sport), behind closed doors due to the pandemic.
