Győző Török
Győző Török (22 May 1935 – 11 April 1987) was a Hungarian cyclist. Török was born in Budapest, and as officially being an employee of the Hungarian Railways, he started racing for their cycling team. He competed in the road race at the 1960 Summer Olympics, but failed to finish. The men's individual road race at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, Italy, was held on 30 August 1960. There were 142 participants from 42 nations. Each nation could enter up to four cyclists. Of the 142 starters 76 rode the distance to the end. The event was won by Viktor Kapitonov of the Soviet Union, the nation's first medal in the event. Livio Trapè of Italy took silver, putting that country on the podium for the second consecutive Games. Willy Vanden Berghen's bronze gave Belgium its fourth medal in four Games (one in 1948, two in 1952, none in 1956). The Tour de Hongrie () is a professional road bicycle stage race organized in Hungary since 1925. History The inaugural Tour de Hongrie took place on 27 June 1925. The cyclists hit the road as early as four in the morning, and the Budapest–Szombathely–Győr-Budapest stage was accomplished the quickest by Károly Jerzsabek, who covered the distance of 510.5 kilometres in 22 hours and 10 minutes to become the first ever champion of the event.
