Men's and Women's Artistic gymnastics have been contested at the Pan American Games since the 1951 Pan American Games, 1951 edition. In 1987 Pan American Games, 1987, Rhythmic gymnastics was introduced. In 2007 Pan American Games, 2007, Trampolining, Trampoline gymnastics was added to the program. Gymnastics is a group of sport that includes physical exercises requiring balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, artistry and endurance. The movements involved in gymnastics contribute to the development of the arms, legs, shoulders, back, chest, and abdominal muscle groups.
