Guys is a town in McNairy County, Tennessee. The population was 466 at the 2010 census. Geography Guys is located at (35.022989, -88.546564). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which is land and (0.26%) is water. Guys has a border with the town of Eastview to the north of it. It had 763 people in the 2020 census. Newspaper Guys's newspaper is the ''Independent Appeal'', which serves all of McNairy County. It was founded in 1902. It is located at 111 N. 2nd St. in Selmer. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 483 people, 188 households, and 141 families residing in the town. The population density was . There were 217 housing units at an average density of 18.5 per square mile (7.1/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 68.94% White, 30.43% Black, 0.21% Asian, and 0.41% from two or more races. Constantin Guys
Constantin Guys (born Ernest-Adolphe Guys de Saint-Hélène, December 3, 1802 – December 13, 1892) was a French Crimean War correspondent, Watercolor painting, water color painter and illustrator for British and French newspapers. Biography Guys was born and baptized in Vlissingen, the son of François Lazare Guys and his second wife, Elisabeth Bétin. His father had been appointed civilian chief of the French Navy in Rochefort, Charente-Maritime, Rochefort in 1796 and was stationed in Vlissingen from 1800 until 1805, after which the family moved to Calais. At the age of 20, Constantin served in the cavalry, but only a little later toured in Greece with Lord Byron. His career as an artist didn't start until he was about 40. Charles Baudelaire, Baudelaire called him the "The Painter of Modern Life, painter of modern life," and wrote a long essay on Guys in which he extensively praised his works, under the pseudonym "Monsieur G". ''The Guys'' is a play by Anne Nelson about the aftereffects of the collapse of the World Trade Center. A film version of the play was released in 2002 and starred Sigourney Weaver and Anthony LaPaglia. History In the play, Joan, an editor, helps Nick, a New York Fire Department captain, prepare the eulogies for the eight firefighters who died under his command that day, out of a crew of twelve. The play debuted off-Broadway at The Flea Theater on December 4, 2001, directed by Jim Simpson and starring Sigourney Weaver and Bill Murray. Since 2001, ''The Guys'' has been presented in 48 US states and in the Czech Republic, Argentina, Japan, Italy and Poland. Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon presented it at the Edinburgh Festival. It is made up of issues #201-219 of ''Cerebus'' and was collected as ''Guys'' in one volume in September 1997. Guy's Snack Foods is a snack foods manufacturer and distributor based in Kansas City, Kansas, with its target market being the Midwest. It is the first company to sell barbecue-flavored potato chips. The company's biggest product line is its potato chips, but it also offers cheese puffs, tortilla chips, snack mix and pretzels. The company was founded by Guy and Frances Caldwell in 1938 as "Guy's Nut and Candy Company", so named because it sold roasted peanuts throughout the Kansas City area. At one time the company had 1,000 employees in its Liberty, Missouri plant. It was sold to Borden Food Corporation in 1979. Borden sold it in 1994. is a Japanese television series produced by Tsuburaya Productions and Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting. It is the 15th entry (21st overall) and 40th anniversary production in the Ultra Series, which first began in 1966. It premiered on the Tokyo Broadcasting System on April 8, 2006. Unlike the two prior entries, '' Ultraman Nexus'' (2004) and '' Ultraman Max'' (2005), ''Mebius'' was moved from Saturday mornings to Saturday evenings at 05:30 and the show went on to air in Korea in April 2012. On October 22, 2014, Crunchyroll announced that the entire series would be available that day on their streaming service for the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
