Gutierre Álvarez de Toledo was a Roman Catholic prelate who served as Bishop of Plasencia (1496–1506). Gutierre De Cetina
Gutierre de Cetina (1519–1554) was a Spanish poet and soldier. Biography Cetina was born at Seville. He was the brother of Beltrán and Gregorio de Cetina, lesser known conquistadors. He served under Charles V in Italy and Germany, but retired from the army in 1545 to settle in Seville. Soon afterwards, however, he sailed for Mexico, where he resided for some time, and later returned to Mexico, where he fell victim some date previous to 1560 in Puebla to a ''morte galante''. Gutierre de Hevia y Valdés (1704 – 2 December 1772) was a Spanish Navy officer who reached the rank of admiral and became commander of the Spanish Marine Infantry. He was court-martialled for his role in the 1762 capture of Havana but reinstated three years later. Biography Born at Tortona, Italy, he joined the Spanish Navy in 1720. In Cadiz, he was involved in a duel and killed his opponent. He was tried but acquitted, and left for the Americas. He entered service in the Spanish Navy, and was the third man to set foot on enemy territory during the recapture of Oran in 1732. Gutierre de Vargas Carvajal born in Madrid in 1506. On 25 May 1524, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Clement VII as Bishop of Plasencia. He was a great builder of churches, organizer of ecclesiastical administration, and a patron of the arts. He financed a maritime expedition crossing the Straits of Magellan, and his intended purpose was to colonize and evangelize Patagonia. Gutierre Fernández, sometimes given as Gutierre Fernández Hidalgo, (c. 1547 – June 11, 1623) was a South American composer and Roman Catholic priest of Spanish birth. His only surviving works are sacred vocal works; most of which were composed for vespers. Life and career Gutierre Fernández was born in Talavera de la Reina, Spain in c. 1547. He was trained by Juan Navarro and worked as a musician under Navarro at the New Cathedral of Salamanca until Navarro was fired in 1574. Fernández also left the cathedral at this time and took a post as maestro de capilla at the Church of Santa María la Mayor in Talavera de la Reina He remained there for approximately nine years. Gutierre (or Guter) Fernández () was a Kingdom of León, Leonese nobleman who served as the majordomo (1110–17) of Urraca of Castile, Queen Urraca until he was removed after imprisoning the queen's lover. Early years Gutierre was the son of Fernando Ermíldez, lord of Val de Trigueros, and Juliana. Gutierre's family had lands in the valley of the Pisuerga, and they were closely allied with Count Pedro Ansúrez and his family, contributing to Pedro's foundation of Valladolid, and in 1112 he witnessed two donations of Pedro Ansúrez to the monastery of San Isidoro de Dueñas. Gutierre Fernández de Castro ( Alfonso VII of León and Castile">Alfonso VII (1126–57) and his son Sancho III of Castile">Sancho III (1157–58). He served Alfonso as a courtier after 1134 and as majordomo (1135–38). He was the guardian and tutor the young Sancho III from 1145.
