Gunzō
is a Japanese monthly literary magazine published in Japan. History and profile ''Gunzō'' was first published in October 1946 as oriented publication. The magazine is published by Kodansha. The past contributors for the magazine include: Kenzaburō Ōe, Haruki Murakami and Yoriko Shono. is a Japanese privately-held publishing company headquartered in Bunkyō, Tokyo. Kodansha is the largest Japanese publishing company, and it produces the manga magazines '' Nakayoshi'', '' Afternoon'', '' Evening'', '' Weekly Shōnen Magazine'' and '' Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine'', as well as the more literary magazines '' Gunzō'', '' Shūkan Gendai'', and the Japanese dictionary '' Nihongo Daijiten''. Gunzo Prize For New Writers
The is an annual literary prize awarded by Japanese literary magazine ''Gunzo {{Unreferenced, date=December 2009 :''The article is about the historical figure. For the Japanese magazine, see Gunzo''. Gunzo (also ''Cunzo'') was a 7th-century duke of the Alamanni under Frankish sovereignty. His residence was at ''villa Iburn ...'', published by Kodansha. It was established in 1958 with two categories, one for novels and one for commentary. According to submission rules, novels submitted must be between 250 and 500 pages, while commentary must be no more than 100 pages (raised from 50 pages in 2003). The winning writer receives a prize of 500,000 yen, with the winning work being published in the June edition of ''Gunzo''.
