Gunnar Þorvarðarson
Gunnar Þorvarðarson (born 11 June 1951) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach and a former member of the Iceland men's national basketball team, Icelandic national basketball team. As a player and coach, he was a member of six Úrvalsdeild karla (basketball), national championships with Njarðvík men's basketball, Njarðvík. Career Gunnar spent his entire playing career with Njarðvík men's basketball, ÍKF/Njarðvík. In 1983, he became a player-coach for Njarðvík and led the team to three straight national championships. In 1986, he was hired as the head coach of Keflavík men's basketball, Keflavík. In 1990, Gunnar signed a 2-year contract to coach Grindavík men's basketball, Grindavík. In 2005, Gunnar returned to the sidelines as an assistant coach to Einar Árni Jóhannsson with the Njarðvík men's basketball, Njarðvík's team that went on to win the 2006 national championship. Forward (basketball)
Basketball is a sport with five players on the court for each team at a time. Each player is assigned to different Position (team sports), positions defined by the strategic role they play. Guard, forward and center are the three main position categories. The standard team features two guards, two forwards, and a center. Logi Gunnarsson
Logi Gunnarsson (born 5 September 1981) is an Icelandic former basketball player who played most of his career for Njarðvík in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla. He was a member of the Icelandic national basketball team, where he participated at the EuroBasket 2015 and EuroBasket 2017. During his career he has won the Icelandic championship three times, in 1998, 2001 and 2002, and the Icelandic Cup twice, in 2002 and 2021. In 2001, he was named the Icelandic Male Basketball Player of the Year. Playing career Club career Logi came up through the junior programs of Njarðvík and played his first games with the senior team during the 1997–1998 season.
