Gulf Times
The ''Gulf Times'' newspaper has been founded in 1978 as the first publication of the Gulf Publishing and Printing Company in the capital city of Qatar, Doha (or ad-Dawhah). It is one of three English language newspapers in the country (the others being '' The Peninsula'' 995and the ''Qatar Tribune'' 006. It is published by Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah, the former deputy prime minister and the former head of the Emir's court. The current chairman of ''Gulf Times'' is Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Attiya, while the editor-in-chief is Faisal Abdulhameed al-Mudahka making the editor in charge K T Chacko. Al Shamal
Al Shamal () is a municipality in Qatar. Its seat is Madinat ash Shamal and it is considered to be one of the major cities in Qatar, although its population is barely over 7,000. The seat's name translates to "city of the north". Ras Rakan, the Qatar Peninsula's northernmost point, is included in the municipality, and is surrounded by the Persian Gulf in all directions except for the south. It borders the municipality of Al Khor. The municipality is divided into three primary zones. The flag of Qatar () is in the ratio of 11:28. It is maroon with a broad white serrated band (nine white points) on the Hoist (flag), hoist side. It was adopted shortly before the country declared independence from the United Kingdom on 3 September 1971. The triangle edges represent Qatar as the 9th " reconciled emirate". Al Hilal () a is multipurpose district in central Doha. It is home to the Doha Mall, the city's first shopping centre. Dukhan
Dukhan () is a city in the western municipality of Al-Shahaniya, Qatar. It is approximately west of the capital, Doha. Dukhan is administered by Qatar's state oil agency QatarEnergy and is the site of the first oil discovery in Qatar. It was previously a part of Al Rayyan municipality. All the industrial operations inside the city are administered by the Dukhan Operations Department. A Dukhan entry gate pass from QatarEnergy is required for entry to the city. Mesaieed (, also transliterated as ''Umm Sa'id'') is an industrial city in Al Wakrah Municipality south of the Qatari capital Doha. It was one of the most important cities in Qatar during the 20th century, having gained recognition as a prime industrial zone and tanking center for petroleum received from Dukhan. Both Mesaieed and its industrial area are administered by a subdivision of QatarEnergy called "Mesaieed Industry City Management", which was established in 1996. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is a Qatari ministry tasked with developing the country's communication and information technology sector. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah ( ; , born 1952) is the former deputy prime minister of Qatar and the head of the Emir's court.
