Guardian Angel Cathedral, Santo Ângelo
Guardian Angel Cathedral (), also called Angelopolitan Cathedral (), is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Santo Ângelo in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. It is the main tourist attraction of the city and the seat of the Diocese of Santo Ângelo. It began to be constructed by in 1929 and its style resembles the temple of St. Michael the Archangel reduction. His style is neoclassical, with arches, columns, frames and ornamentation. The idea of replacing the second church by the present cathedral began in 1920. The aim was to build a temple that it take as an example the style of the old church of St. Michael the Archangel reduction. In September 1929 the laying of the foundation stone of the work took place. In 1955, they came to an end the work of the facade of the church, under the direction of sculptor and architect Austrian Valentin Von Adamovich. In 1971 the towers were completed. Santo Ângelo
Santo Ângelo is a municipality located in northwestern Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. It has about 77,568 inhabitants (according to 2020 IBGE estimate) and the total area of the municipality is about 679 km2. It borders Giruá to the north, and Entre-Ijuís to the south—it is linked to Santo Ângelo by the state road RS 344. The city is located 443 km (275 mi) from the state capital, Porto Alegre. The local agriculture-economy produces and deals soy, corn, wheat, swine, sheep and cattle. Tourism in the city is primarily associated with the city's Jesuit history and the Jesuit Reductions in the nearby city São Miguel das Missões. Guardian Angel Cathedral is a Catholic cathedral in Winchester, Nevada, United States, in the Las Vegas Valley. It is located just off of the Las Vegas Strip, north of the Wynn and Encore hotels. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of Las Vegas. Before the establishment of the Diocese of Las Vegas in 1995, it was a parish of the Diocese of Reno. History St. Viator Church was built on the site of the former city dump in 1955. The ground proved to be unstable and the church was condemned and torn down six months after it opened. The Rev. Richard Crowley, CSV, now churchless, approached Moe Dalitz to donate land on the Las Vegas Strip. Although Jewish, Dalitz liked the idea of having a church convenient for his casino workers.
