Grünwettersbach
Since its incorporation in 1975, Grünwettersbach has been a district in the southeast of Karlsruhe. Together with Palmbach (located further southeast), Grünwettersbach forms the administrative unit Wettersbach. Grünwettersbach is naturally located in the northern Black Forest and has been part of the Central/North Black Forest Nature Park since January 2021. It can be reached via the Karlsruhe (Baden), Karlsbad junction on the Bundesautobahn 8 between Karlsruhe and Pforzheim. History The place was probably founded by the monks of the Herrenalb Abbey (Calw district). The Evangelical Parish Church of St. Lucia (Grünwettersbach), St. Lucia was first mentioned in 1278. The former patrons included the Grafen von Vaihingen, Counts of Vaihingen, whose coat of arms led the town until it was incorporated. Palmbach
Palmbach is the smallest district of the Baden-Württemberg city of Karlsruhe. The Waldensian town of Palmbach is located on the southeastern edge of the urban area and was incorporated into the city of Karlsruhe on January 1, 1975. Naturally, it is located in the northern Black Forest, is the highest residential area in Karlsruhe and has been part of the Central/North Black Forest Nature Park since January 2021. Palmbach is located directly at the Karlsbad (Baden), Karlsbad motorway exit of the Bundesautobahn 8 and is one of the high-altitude districts of Karlsruhe that are called "mountain villages" in the region. History 28 Waldensian refugee families came to Grünwettersbach in 1701. They were expelled from the Waldensian valleys, in what is now Piedmont, because of their Reformed faith. Duke Eberhard Louis (18 September 1676 – 31 October 1733) was the List of rulers of Württemberg, Duke of Württemberg, from 1692 until 1733. Biography Eberhard Louis was born in Stuttgart the third child of Duke William Louis, Duke of Württemberg, William Louis and his wife, Magdalena Sibylla of Hesse-Darmstadt. The Grand Duchy of Baden () was a German polity on the east bank of the Rhine. It originally existed as a sovereign state from 1806 to 1871 and later as part of the German Empire until 1918.
