Großflottbeker THGC
Grossflottbeker Tennis Hockey and Golf Club (GTHGC) is a tennis, field hockey and golf club based in Hamburg, Germany. The club was founded on 1 July 1901 as a tennis club. Ten years later, a hockey club was founded and in 1937 a golf club was added. The club currently has approximately 2,000 members. Grossflottbeker Hockey Club won several tournaments in the past and the Ladies Team were very successful in the 1960s and 1970s, winning four national titles. In 1978 the women even reached the final of the EuroHockey Club Champions Cup. The hockey club hosts the Jacques Paloume tournament every three years. Field hockey (or simply referred to as hockey in some countries where ice hockey is not popular) is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with 11 players in total, made up of 10 field players and a goalkeeper. Jacques Paloume
The Jacques Paloumé is a field hockey tournament and festival hosted by three European hockey clubs. An informal tournament was held in 1949. The tournament was first hosted in 1950, in Dieppe by East Grinstead. In 1951, the tournament was hosted in Rouen, France. In 1954Gross Flottbek a hockey team from Hamburg, Germany, hosted the tournament for first time. The tournament's location rotates each year between Rouen (France), Gross Flottbek (Hamburg, Germany) and East Grinstead (Sussex, England). Feldhockey Bundesliga (Women's Field Hockey)
The Feldhockey Bundesliga is the top level of women's field hockey in Germany and is organized by the German Hockey Federation. The league ranks second European women's league rankings. It was established in 1940. Format The season starts in August or September and is interrupted by the indoor hockey season from November to March. From April the outdoor season will be continued. Since the 2011–12 season the league was played by twelve teams who played each other twice and who competed for four spots in the championship play-offs.
